General questions

How do I know if I am on list price or on an advantaged plan? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

JSM and Bitbucket customers:

If your last renewal was less than the prices listed for Cloud Standard and Premium plans, you are on an advantaged pricing plan. Technical and billing contacts can confirm this by logging into admin.atlassian.com and following these steps:

  1. Find the relevant Cloud site and click “View site bill” to see your Billing Overview
  2. Click on “Billing History” to see your most recent invoices
  3. Download your most recent bill
  4. Open the PDF and look at the details page. You’ll see a breakdown of your subscriptions by product associated with your Cloud site
  5. Compare your products' prices with the Cloud Standard and Premium pricing tables

Opsgenie customers:

In order to view Opsgenie billing plan information, the customer’s billing administrator can:

  • Log into the Opsgenie UI
  • Click the ‘Settings’ cogwheel then ‘Subscriptions’
  • In the box labeled ‘Billing’ there will be option to view ‘Invoices’
    • If the customer is not the ‘Account Owner’ but an authorized contact, they may need to request a copy of the invoice from the account owner.

Note: Pricing plans are at the product subscription level. Therefore, you could be on list price for one product and advantaged price plan for a different product.

When does the price update take effect? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

New prices will go into effect October 16, 2024 PT.

What improvements have been made over the last year? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

Here are a few of the improvements we’ve made over the past 12 months for the products impacted by the October 16, 2024 PT, price increase.

Jira Service Management

  • In the past year, Jira Service Management has evolved significantly to meet the needs of modern IT teams. We've integrated advanced AI-powered support and operations features, added robust asset management capabilities, and enhanced overall functionality to drive more value for our customers.
  • 20k agents scale: Support for 20,000 agents on a single site of Jira Service Management.
  • Streamlined incident management experience: Alert, on-call, and incident management features, previously available through Opsgenie, are now integrated into the UI, allowing Dev and IT Ops teams to efficiently accelerate incident response directly from one central location.
  • End-to-end incident management via Slack: Bridge the gap between incident tickets on JSM and related Slack conversations. Collaborate seamlessly by updating incident statuses, and informing stakeholders directly from Slack. You can also send Slack messages directly to incidents in JSM.
  • Assets reporting for admins: Enable admins to analyze their Assets data and improve their decision-making with in-product reporting.
  • Virtual Service Agent for Jira Service Management (IT Service Management): Empower operations and support teams to deliver exceptional service at scale, fast, with our AI-powered virtual service agent for Slack.

Opsgenie

Since acquiring Opsgenie in 2018, Atlassian has invested deeply in embedding incident response capabilities within our ITSM portfolio. Today, Opsgenie customers can still enjoy standalone alerts and on-call capabilities, or leverage them as part of the expanded Jira Service Management toolset.

  • TISAX level 2 compliance: Compliance with regulations set by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA).
  • In-product cookie controls: Registered users will have the ability to adjust their cookie settings and choose not to accept cookies that are deemed non-essential.

Bitbucket

Since our last price change for Bitbucket Cloud in 2021, we’ve significantly invested in the product experience. New capabilities include:

  • New ways to improve governance and code quality across your organization with dynamic pipelines and custom checks.
  • Enhancements to the code review experience (including batched comments, marking files as viewed, iterative reviews, and an updated UI) as well as new AI capabilities, such as AI PR summaries, create a more seamless experience and improve developer productivity.
  • Improved performance, adding a financially backed 99.9% SLA, into our Premium plan.
  • Expanded extensibility with Forge, allowing you to easily build your own applications on top of Bitbucket.
  • New integration to Compass, Atlassian’s internal developer portal, to help customers better navigate repository ownership, map dependencies, and find information faster.

Our advantaged plans have been honored for many years. As we migrate Bitbucket into a central billing system, where you’ll eventually pay for your Bitbucket alongside the rest of your Atlassian products, we’re unfortunately no longer able to support your legacy pricing plan. We still believe Bitbucket remains the highest value-for-price SCM and CI/CD tool available.

Be sure to check out our Cloud Roadmap to see the latest and upcoming features we’re building into our Cloud products.

Why are you increasing the price of advantaged plans? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

We introduced advantaged pricing as a way to bring tenured customers to list over time, making it possible to plan for price changes instead of being brought to list all at once. Our list prices are competitive compared to the market, and advantaged pricing is below list for several product plans.

Our ongoing investments in our cloud products reflect our commitment to unify your teams on the Atlassian Cloud Platform, facilitating greater alignment and more efficient collaboration.

Billing & licensing questions

How can I reduce my bill? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

If you’re looking to lower your monthly bill, here are a few strategies to consider:

  • Deactivate inactive users that aren’t using your Cloud product(s) so they no longer count towards your monthly bill.
  • Convert to an annual subscription that may offer a discount of up to 2 months free on an annual basis, depending on the number of users purchased.

If you're looking to lower your annual bill, here are a few strategies to consider:

  • Deactivate inactive users that aren’t using your Cloud product(s) to reduce your user count and contact us when your renewal is due to downgrade to a lower tier.
  • If you own multiple Cloud Standard or Premium subscriptions of the same product, you may be able to save money on your bill by consolidating those into one Cloud Enterprise subscription. The Cloud Enterprise plans offer multiple instances, up to 150, with centralized per-using licensing and a centralized per-user licensing model.
  • Consider an early renewal (see next FAQ for details).
Can I renew my cloud subscription early? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

Customers with an annual Cloud subscription automatically receive a no-obligation quote to renew their subscription 90 days before it expires, unless they have an existing quote for another product on the same site. Customers need to be within 90 days of their renewal window to purchase a renewal (even if it’s purchasing an additional year for a 2-year contract).

Customers on monthly plans cannot renew early unless they move to an annual plan. To move to an annual plan, please refer to “How do I sign up for annual payments?” Monthly customers can request an annual quote any time before October 16, 2024 PT to receive existing pricing. Payment must be received before that quote expires, and the quote cannot be extended beyond November 13, 2024 PT.

If I already have a quote for an annual subscription with the old pricing, will you still honor it? Copy link to heading Copied! Show

If you created or received a quote for an annual subscription before October 16, 2024 PT, we will honor that quote under the existing pricing until the quote validity date lapses. Quotes generated on or after October 16, 2024 PT, will be based on the new pricing.
