Server Pricing


Atlassian is updating the price of our Server products and Atlassian-owned apps on October 3, 2019.

Over the past year we’ve delivered five platform releases across the majority of our Server products, with the goal of providing you with a platform and product capabilities you can depend on for years to come. This price increase will allow us to continually invest in R&D with the future in mind, and ensure more robust feature releases that deliver the value you’ve come to expect from Atlassian’s products.

This page provides FAQs related to the upcoming pricing changes and detailed pricing tables by product and user tier. Pricing will not go into effect until October 3, 2019. If you would like to talk to us directly, please contact our support team.

General Questions

What prices are changing on October 3rd, 2019? Show

All new and existing Server licenses and Atlassian-owned apps (Portfolio for Jira, Team Calendars for Confluence, and Questions for Confluence) will receive price increases, except for Fisheye and Crucible.

When does the pricing change take effect? Show

New prices will go into effect October 3, 2019.

  • If your existing Server and/or app license(s) expire before January 1, 2020, you should receive an auto quote before October 3, 2019 with current pricing.
  • If your existing Server and/or app license(s) expires after January 1, 2020, then you can create a renewal or upgrade quote between the announcement date and October 2, 2019 with the current pricing. Quotes can be created for 12 or 24 months.
  • We will honor any open quotes created before October 3, 2019 until their expiration date as indicated on the quote.
  • For new customers, if you create a quote before October 3, 2019, we will honor that quote under the prior pricing until it expires. Quotes generated on or after October 3, 2019 will be based on the new pricing.

We are increasing the price of Atlassian’s Server products to allow us to continue to develop our product platforms for the future and ensure more robust feature releases, all while maintaining the value customers have come to expect from Atlassian. While price increases are never an easy decision, we’re committed to continuing to provide competitively high-value products at a low cost.

What prices are changing on October 3rd, 2019? Show

Billing / Licensing - General

If I already have a quote with the old pricing, will you still honor it? Show

If you created a quote before October 3, 2019, we will honor that quote under the prior pricing until it expires. Existing quotes will be honored until they are deleted. Quotes can be created for 12 or 24 months. Once a quote is deleted, it will not be restored and you will need to pay the new pricing. Quotes generated on or after October 3, 2019 will be based on the new pricing.

Can I renew my server software maintenance early? Show

You can renew your Server software maintenance at any time. To renew your maintenance or request a quote, visit: https://www.atlassian.com/purchase/renew.

Select the license(s) you want to renew and add them to your cart. Then, check out or request a quote.

What if I have an open quote for a renewal, upgrade, or downgrade? Show

We will honor all existing quotes generated before October 3, 2019. If a quote is edited after October 3, 2019, then any changes will reflect the new pricing.

Are the prices of apps in the Marketplace increasing? Show

Pricing for Atlassian-owned apps is changing. See our pricing table for more details.

Pricing for Marketplace vendor apps (non-Atlassian 3rd party apps) is not changing as a direct result of Atlassian's price changes. However, Marketplace vendors can adjust their pricing at anytime, so please check marketplace.atlassian.com for up-to-date app pricing information.

If I don't renew my Server license right now and want to return to it at a later date, will I have to pay the new price? Show

Yes, if you defer maintenance and renew at a later date, you will pay the new price and it will be backdated to the previous expiration date.

Will Academic discounts change too? Show

Academic discounts will remain the same, you will still receive 50% off list price for both new purchases and renewals.

Will Community discounts change too? Show

Community discounts will remain the same, you will still receive a free server license.

Do existing licenses have to pay the new license prices at their next renewal? Show

No, existing licenses will receive a moderate increase at their annual renewals to help ease into our new prices. Please visit our pricing tables for more details.

Will there still be an upgrade credit available for Server Customers upgrading to Data Center? Show

 

Yes, there will still be upgrade credits available for Server customers upgrading to Data Center for Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira Service Desk, and Crowd. We are also increasing the credit amount for all new Data Center customers upgrading from Server, as well as now offering credits for the following upgrade tiers:

  • Jira Software Server 250 users → Jira Software DC 500 users
  • Jira Software Server 500 Users → Jira Software DC 500 users
  • Confluence Server 250 users → Confluence DC 500 users
  • Confluence Server 500 users → Confluence DC 500 users
