1. Migrate to cloud

Moving to cloud enables you to connect your tech teams with the rest of your organization to accelerate innovation, welcome AI to the team, and maximize team impact on the business.

The Atlassian Migration Program can help you assess your landscape, plan ahead, prepare your data, and test the migration before making the move to cloud. Additional guidance includes:

2.[Bitbucket and Bamboo Data Center customers only] Move to the new Bitbucket Hybrid License:

We understand your source code and CI/CD pipelines are mission-critical, and your organization may need to keep them self-managed. To provide maximum flexibility, Bitbucket and Bamboo Data Center will not end of life and will continue beyond the Data Center end of life in 2029. Instead, existing Bitbucket and Bamboo Data Center customers will gain access to a Bitbucket Hybrid License allowing them to use Bitbucket Data Center, Bamboo Data Center and Bitbucket Cloud.

This enables your team to maintain your self-managed repositories and CI/CD build environments without disruption beyond 2029, while giving you immediate access to explore and adopt cloud capabilities, including agentic AI and Rovo, at your own pace.

When your current subscription ends, you can choose to renew to the Bitbucket Hybrid License.

Your Bitbucket Data Center and Bamboo Data Center environments will remain right where they are. No data transfer is required. You can learn more about this offering here.

3. Continue on Data Center for up to 3 years

Ultimately, in order to continue using Atlassian products, you will need to move to cloud. We understand that some customers have requirements that are not currently available in Atlassian cloud and will need flexibility in their timelines. To ensure work is not interrupted, we will allow some customers to purchase multi-year Data Center extensions beyond March 28, 2029 by exception only. Please contact your Account Executive or reach out to Atlassian to discuss migration options.

With this in mind, we are currently exploring options for organizations with more complex requirements.

We encourage you to engage with your Account Executive directly so that we can ensure our product roadmap meets your needs. We understand that some organizations face unique challenges or requirements that may delay their move to the cloud. For these situations, we’re committed to offering extended maintenance for certain Data Center customers by exception after March 28, 2029, ensuring you have the flexibility and support you need for a successful transformation.
