Associate Product Manager Program

Future technology leaders start here

The Associate Product Manager (APM) program is designed to accelerate the growth of exceptionally creative problem solvers into the next generation of global leaders. Our APMs experience two, one-year long rotations with different Atlassian product teams.

Team working on multiple tasks

A diverse team of problem-solvers

Our APMs come from all kinds of backgrounds, from engineering and design to marketing and consulting. We don't look for a specific type of background or degree. Instead, we look for candidates with exceptional problem-solving skills, a high degree of empathy for customers, and an eye for building delightful experiences.

Be a part of our growing community

APMs regularly meet within their cohort to connect and collaborate, organize social events with product managers across Atlassian, and form strong connections across multiple years of cohorts. All of this results in a community of product leaders across the company who help each other maximize their impact.

Learn from our best product leaders

APMs are mentored by our most experienced product leaders who support them through their 2-year journey and beyond. APMs also experience a 2-week bootcamp, attend a speaker series with leaders across the tech industry, perform a research project between rotations, and take part in tailored learning and development training.

"I studied Computer Science at UC Berkeley, and had done both product design and software engineering internships in the past. I really enjoyed being creative as a designer, shipping great software, and thinking about business strategy, which brought me to product management! My first rotation is on the Bitbucket Connect team, where I'm working on integrating Bitbucket with key partners to enhance developer workflow and experience. This has been a really exciting journey, both in terms of growing as a PM and as an individual. My favorite thing about the APM program is that everyone has a strong growth mindset and my teammates always have each other's best interests in mind."

"I studied Computer Science at UCLA, and had previously worked in software engineering and venture capital.  I loved building things as an engineer, but was looking for a career where I could think more strategically about the business and user experience at the same time as being technical. That pursuit brought me to Atlassian as an APM, where my first rotation is on the Platform team. I'm responsible for creating a new cloud platform offering to improve monetization, and am super excited to learn more. My favorite part about Atlassian's APM program is the trust and guidance that APMs are given, which really helps us make a huge impact from day 1."

"In a previous life I was a Personal Trainer, who then went to UNSW in my 30s to study Software Engineering and Finance. I joined as an intern and been here since. I'm working on bringing the new Project Configuration experience to Jira. I'm excited about learning as much as I can about product and creating the Jira of tomorrow. As an APM, I like getting exposed to different PM styles, products and teams, which positions me to take the best learnings from each."
