SMART goals template

Making sure the goals you are setting have all of the SMART components (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-based). This system may seem more time-consuming than setting regular goals, but the benefit far outweighs the added effort spent on the SMART process.

When you look at examples of a SMART goal, you will better understand the necessary properties that must be part of the goal. For example, your SMART goal should have a time limit so your efforts don’t drag on endlessly with unclear metrics that lead to scope creep.

For each SMART goal you want to set, use the table in the template to clearly align the roadmap to success. With SMART goals, you know exactly what you want to achieve and the time frame in which you expect to successfully achieve them.
