We are seeking a Strategic Insights Analyst to join our team of high-performing analysts and data scientists. Your work will directly inform Atlassian’s Cloud Migration strategy by providing actionable insights for our Migrations Ops, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams.

You are a perfect fit if you have a keen analytical mind, strong business sense, and can translate complex data into clear, compelling stories. Advanced SQL and Tableau skills are essential, as is experience with data warehousing. Python and PySpark experience is preferred.


  • Become a trusted partner to leaders across Migrations Ops, Sales, Engineering and Product by sharing strategic insights and actionable recommendations to advance Cloud Migrations goals. 

  • Develop data visualizations and communicate clear takeaways to guide Cloud Migration performance and influence key decisions

  • Create executive readouts that demonstrate a deep understanding of business needs, company objectives and target audience

  • Foster alignment with cross-functional leaders through compelling storytelling and expert data analysis

  • Translate stakeholder pain points into easy-to-navigate, self-serving dashboards that align with company goals

  • Promote dashboard adoption through clear documentation, walkthroughs, and effective communication channels.

  • Lead metric definition using decision-making frameworks that evaluate the pros and cons of various scenarios.

  • Build data models to set  and monitor company-wide targets using structured in-house data. 

  • Use SQL expertise and other programming languages like Python to transform raw data into reliable, efficient tables for executive analyses and dashboards

  • Partner with Data Engineering to integrate new business requirements into datasets and data pipelines  

  • Become a trusted partner and mentor for junior team members 


  • Over 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science.

  • Highly proficient in SQL and relational databases. Experience in Python and PySpark preferred.

  • More than 4 years of expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau.

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and tools.

  • Skilled at generating insights and crafting compelling narratives from data.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate analysis into well-written content.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders effectively.

  • Self-motivated individual with a strong sense of ownership, capable of thriving in ambiguous situations.

  • Experienced in advising and presenting to senior executives and serving as a strategic thought partner.

  • Mentoring experience with junior colleagues is a plus.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $149,400 - $195,050

Zone B: $135,000 - $176,250

Zone C: $124,200 - $162,150

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
