What is a Sandbox?
A sandbox is an isolated test environment that mirror your app’s production site. They let you safely test new configurations, features, and apps, plus train users and innovate, all without risk to production.
Which apps and plans include Sandboxes?
Sandboxes are available for Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, and Jira Product Discovery on Premium or Enterprise plans.
- Apps on an Enterprise plan automatically get five sandboxes that can be allocated to any site associated with the Enterprise plan.
- Apps on a Premium plan can allocate one sandbox to only the site associated with that Premium plan.
However, additional sandboxes can be purchased for both Premium and Enterprise plan apps (more below).
Who needs Multiple Sandboxes?
Organizations that need to run parallel tests on their app's production site need Multiple Sandboxes. It enables them to implement industry-standard change management practices while reducing risk and eliminating bottlenecks that slow down change and innovation.
Who can purchase additional sandboxes?
Customers can purchase additional sandboxes for apps that are on a Premium or Enterprise plan and are being billed annually.
What is the cost of additional sandboxes?
Additional sandboxes cost $10,000 per sandbox, per app and can only be purchased if the associated app plan is billed annually. For example if you need 1 Jira Sandbox and 1 Confluence Sandbox you will need to purchase one for each.
How do additional sandboxes work with your license?
Enterprise plan: Additional sandboxes can be used across all sites associated with your app’s Enterprise plan.
Premium plan: Additional sandboxes are site-specific. Each Premium site needing an extra sandbox requires a separate purchase.
How do I purchase additional sandboxes?
You can purchase additional sandboxes in two ways:
1) Through admin.atlassian.com/billing:
- Select Subscriptions > choose app license
- Click Add-on tab > Explore add-ons
- Select "Additional sandboxes"
- Enter desired number of sandboxes
- Add payment method
- Review and Accept legal terms
2) Or by contacting sales directly. Additional sandboxes can only be purchased for app plans billed annually.
How do I get extra sandboxes for my apps on a premium plan so I can use Multiple Sandboxes?
Apps on a Premium plan can allocate one sandbox to only the site associated with that Premium plan. However, customers who want access to use Multiple Sandboxes with a app on a Premium plan can purchase an additional Sandbox via admin.atlassian.com/billing or by contacting sales directly.
