Summary of Changes

Here are highlights from our updated legal terms (effective November 1, 2018). For more information please read the full Cloud Terms of Service and Software License Agreement.

Cloud Terms of Service

  • Atlassian Entities.  Atlassian is a family of companies.  We clarified which Atlassian family member provides each specific service to you.
  • Trello. In 2017 we announced that Trello had joined the Atlassian family!  We now have a consolidated set of terms for all Trello and Atlassian customers.  Trello is offered under the Cloud Terms of Service (with Trello Product-Specific Terms).
  • Atlassian Data Processing Addendum. We've included the ability to request and complete our Data Processing Addendum (DPA) to help our customers meet their onward transfer requirements under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Cloud Warranty. We offer an industry-standard warranty against viruses, Trojan horses or similar harmful materials.
  • Defining the Customer.  We clarified who our customer is.  You choose what email address you use to create an account with us.  If you create an account using an email address from a domain owned or controlled by a company, government, organization or other entity (such as your employer), then that entity is our customer, and you are binding that entity to these terms.  If you create an account using your own personal email address, then you are our customer.
  • Admin Controls.  We added information on the choices that administrators can take to manage their users (including inviting new users to access Cloud products they administer).
  • Reseller Sales.  We aligned our reseller terms to reflect our current go-to-market terminology.
  • Removal of Arbitration.  We listened to customer feedback and we removed arbitration as a requirement for dispute resolution.
  • Atlassian Mobile Apps.  We clarified that Atlassian mobile apps are governed by these terms.
  • Professional Services.  We folded stand-alone professional services terms into these terms for ease and simplicity.
  • Government Amendment.  We added additional terms applicable to United States federal, state, and local government customers, recognizing their unique contracting requirements.
  • Orders. We updated the definition of "Order" to reflect the fact that many purchases occur in-product, or when signing up for or administering the Cloud products.
  • Notice Address: We're moving offices!  As a result, we've updated our address for contacting us.
