bepartofsummit.jpgAtlassian Summit is 54 days away. There are dozens of discussions in this 2-day event. As we run up to the event, we wanted to highlight some of the speakers.
This interview is with Alex Davidson of Sony Computer Entertainment. He will be speaking on our lightning talks.
What is your title and role within the organization?
Senior Manager, Information Portals, SONY Computer Entertainment. I lead a team of engineers in the development of a collaboration platform used by SONY game development studios to build, share and deploy games and technology for the PSP, PS2 and PS3 game consoles.
What product(s) will you be presenting at Summit?
JIRA and Confluence.
How is your team using these tool(s)?
Games consist of code developers, artists, Motion Capture Studios, sound designers, producers, directors, animators and many other disciplines, and the employes can be located in many studios in many cities in North America, Europe and Japan. JIRA and Confluence are used in our Portal to create collaboration sites for sharing game assets such as audio tracks, artwork, and marketing “sizzle reels”. More and more we see game development teams use JIRA to create workflows that manage the delivery of assets to outside studios and Confluence for asset repositories and shared document libraries.
Please give us a short preview of your presentation.
I’ll cover how JIRA is used to track assets through a workflow for delivery to PlayStation.com and how game development teams to use JIRA and Confluence to build collaboration spaces for their teams that include concept art repositories and shared document libraries. I’ll also demonstrate the integration of JIRA and Confluence with our Information Portal.
What do you hope to get out of Summit yourself?
I’m really interested to finding out how other Atlassian customers are deploying and using JIRA and Confluence and I’m keen to understand Atlassian’s product roadmaps and plans for the next 18 to 24 months.
Join us at Atlassian Summit 31 May to 2 June, 2009 in San Francisco. Meet other customers, our brilliant sponsors and partners, and Atlassian staff for more than 2 days of case studies, code, and performance tips on the products you use.
