This is our third blog post and preview of Atlassian Summit 2010. For the next few months leading up to Atlassian Summit, we’ll be publishing interviews and guest posts from our speakers and sponsors at the event.
What are your titles and roles within the organization?
- Jonathan Doklovic – Founder, Systems Bliss Inc.
- Kevin Behrens – Release Manager, Internet Broadcasting
What product(s) will you be presenting at Summit?
Bamboo integrated with Jira via the Bamboo Jira Versions Plugin as wells as the Jira Workflow Designer.
How is your team using these tool(s)?
Every project at Internet Brodcasting is tracked through Jira and built with Bamboo.
This includes a variety of project types including Java, Flash, Ruby, etc, using both Ant/Ivy and Maven based builds.
Please give us a short preview of your presentation.
We will be showcasing how we recently developed a change management triage project for Internet Broadcasting.
First we’ll walk through how we use the Bamboo Jira Versions plugin to enable version management for Bamboo builds via Jira and show off some of the new features of Jira Versions 2.0 including auto-branching within a single build plan and auto-releasing versions in Jira.
Next, we’ll show how we customized Jira using workflows, custom fields, and a little bit of luck, to create a project used to track production deployment requests. Each request can be tied to a specific version of another Jira project enabling Internet Broadcasting to track a production deployment request all the way back to a single subversion commit.
What do you hope to get out of Summit yourself?
We want to catch up with our friends in the Atlassian community and learn about how other companies are using Atlassian products. As always, Sysbliss will be looking forward to hearing about the needs of the development community and get ideas about how we can help to fill some of the integration gaps.
