SJUG – JavaFX: The future of Rich Client Java, An introduction to JavaFX and some real world experiences.

Who: Steven Herod is part of the JFXtras project and the developer of TwitterFX, a JavaFX based Twitter client which featured in the recently announced Sun’s Java Store. Whilst his nights are spent with JavaFX his days are spent as a project manager, architect, development manager and developer in web application development, business to business messaging and systems integration.

Coding Dojo with John Ferguson Smart

John Ferguson Smart from Wakaleo Consulting is visiting from NZ and will be presenting a Coding Dojo from 5.30pm to 7.00pm at our office on Wedneday 21st October. A Coding Dojo is a place where programmers come to improve their skills, by following a pattern similar to the martial arts dojo. This dojo will probably be using Eclipse and/or IntelliJ, both with Infinitest installed for Continuous Testing. For more information and to RSVP here

Tech 23

Our fearless leader Mike Cannon-Brookes will be part of the panel at Tech 23 on the 27th October. Tech23 is a one day event bringing together young innovators and experienced entrepreneurs and investors. It’s all about exploring the opportunities that exist in certain market segments.
