Every year, Codegeist seems to outdo itself in prizes. For 2009, we put a call out to staff at Atlassian (via the wiki, naturally) to gather ideas for prizes for this year’s plugin development competition winners. If the fame and glory of winning Codegeist isn’t enough motivation to enter the competition, then have a look at what’s up for grabs — it may just get you to submit plugins to more than one category.

Balsamiq is offering free copies of its game-changing software for mockups. Both desktop and JIRA & Confluence versions are up for grabs. Balsamiq will change the way you work and make you look brilliant!
You like that Confluence lets you easily collaborate on text-based documents? Do you like diagrams? Then you want to win Gliffy for Confluence. It’s the best of both worlds: create diagrams with the rich and simple interface, and collaborate on them with your colleagues in Confluence!
Win a free pass to QCon San Francisco (Nov 18-20) – an enterprise software dev conference featuring speakers such as Eric Evans, Martin Fowler, Robert C. Martin, Rod Johnson and others. Tracks include Agility as a Craft, DSLs in Practice, Kanban/ Lean Software Dev, Java, SOA, The Cloud, Emerging Languages and more. InfoQ is also offering $500 off if you register before Sep 25th!
Win a free a personal license for JetBrains‘ RubyMine and IntelliJ IDEA, the latter of which is the weapon of choice for Atlassian engineers. And for the burgeoning Ruby and Rails market, RubyMine offers the essential tools for building brilliant apps with ease.
O’Reilly is giving away a free pass to OSCON 2010 to the first place winner of Codegeist. OSCON is the premier open source conference, it’s a value of over $1,000! Just announced: O’Reilly is also tossing in $400 worth of e-books. Details to be added soon on the prizes page.
Win a license for Sysbliss JIRA Workflow Designer — the visual way to edit JIRA workflows. It’s a full blown editor that makes use of standard diagramming concepts to make editing JIRA workflows quick and easy.
A big shout out to YourKit for their support of Codegeist for the last 3 years. This year’s Codegeist winners will receive a personal license for the YourKit Java and .Net Profiler — the profiler that makes JIRA continually faster and leaner.

Our sincere thanks to Balsamiq, Gliffy, InfoQ, JetBrains, O’Reilly, Sysbliss, and YourKit. You guys rock!
