Yesterday San Francisco celebrated Bike to Work Day. A celebration of biking, healthy lifestyles and green living, Bike to Work Day attracted over 200,000 bikers in San Francisco to leave their cars at home and commute on two wheels.
We have roughly a dozen cyclists in our SF office and a few of us decided to get together and bike down to the Bay for lunch at Red’s Java House for burgers and fish and chips.
Here’s a short pictorial of our trip:

Atlassians head out from the office. From Left to Right: David (Jira Support), Me (Community Manager), Adam (Jira Support), Peter (Confluence Support) and Jeremy (Confluence Support Lead):

Jeremy took Ken’s bike out for the ride. Ken, being of Nordic heritage, is a giant, which posed some particular challenges for Jeremy to even get onto his bike:

With everyone geared up and ready to go, we made the 20 minute bike ride to Red’s, sat out on the water, soaked up the view and got our lunch on:

Bike to Work Day is officially once a year, but you don’t have to wait for next year to roll around to hop on your bike and get fit!
