Fresh off the heels of the Bamboo 3.3 release we are kicking off the first ever Bamboo competition – The Task Master Challenge. We are giving away over $1,000 in prizes, including a ticket to Summit and $500 to spend on, for the best Bamboo Task Plugin. Give it a go and create some new ways to automate your build process.

What’s a Task?

Tasks are an easy way to extend Bamboo to automate the different parts of your build process. With Tasks, you can create integrations with the apps you use every day, like Google App Engine or Heroku, or integrate with your familiar development environments such as Ruby on Rails or Bitbucket.

Getting Started

To get started (hacking) just visit the Task Master Challenge site, learn about the contest, understand submission guidelines, get developer resources, understand judging criteria, and anything else.

First time creating a Task? We have you covered. A step-by-step walk-through of creating task is available.

Have an idea? Need help? The Bamboo team is ready to answer your questions on the Atlassian Support Community.

A Little Time for a Big Prize

The competition opens today (October 18, 2011) and ends November 18th, 2011. The first 10 valid submissions to the contest receive an Atlassian Angry Nerds T-shirt and Bamboo Keyboard.

The Bamboo Task Master will get a handful of prizes including a ticket to our annual worldwide user conference Atlassian Summit 2012 and $500 to spend on some interesting gadgets on

Much More Coming

We plan on throwing a few exciting things your way during the course of the competition. So start building, and stay tuned for more news soon.
