The Insights app adds governed metrics, definitions, and lineage to the graph, so teams, and their agents can put trusted answers to work

Without understanding work alongside its related data context, teams are missing the full picture.

Today, support leads can see the queue in Jira, but not the onboarding or usage data in the data warehouse that explains the surge. Product managers see the sprint data, but not whether delivery is keeping pace with revenue.

Dashboards answer questions that someone already anticipated. For everything else, it still menas submitting ticket to the data team — and while you wait, work stalls. Data shouldn’t be the thing that prevents the team from moving, it should propel potential.

The Insights app is our newest platform app, evolving our Analytics app to bring data context to the Teamwork Graph: governed metrics, glossary definitions, lineage, and quality signals that give AI shared meaning about how the business actually works.

Combined with the work and knowledge context already in the graph, teams and agents get answers they can act on, across the Atlassian surfaces where they already work.

Connect the data your business already runs on

Insights gives every team member a place to explore data from day one, uncovering trends and patterns across the goals, people, and work in Atlassian without waiting on a data-team handoff. Adding structured third-party context gives teams and Rovo a more complete picture of the business and greater confidence in every decision.

Connect data warehouses, databases, pipelines, and visualization tools, without moving the data. What is brought into the Teamwork Graph isn’t a copy of every row; it’s governed metadata: the shared definitions and relationships that turn the data into valuable context for teams and their agents.

Shared meaning, not guesswork

You can already point AI at a data warehouse. However, without a layer that understands which rows and columns actually hold the information you care about, you’re sending it in blindfolded — it’ll hit something, but probably not the bullseye.

Rows alone don’t say which revenue number counts, how your company defines success, or whether a table is fresh enough to trust. Without shared meaning, two people can ask the same question and get two different answers, and neither knows which is right.

Insights gives data teams a space to curate that meaning: a data catalog and glossary business terms and with clear ownership. Lineage and quality signals sit on every answer, so you can see where a number came from and how current it is.

From then on, teams, Rovo, and agents reuse the same definition in answers and dashboards. When someone challenges a number, you can point to the definition, the owner, and the source behind it.

Eliminate data being the bottleneck

Rovo Insights brings conversational analytics to every team. Ask in plain language inside the Insights app, or invoke the Rovo Insights skill across Atlassian apps where teams already work.

It goes beyond returning a single chart, working across connected data and Atlassian apps to surface visuals, trends, patterns, recommendations, and the rationale behind its findings. Teams can keep exploring without waiting on a data-team ticket or being limited to a dashboard someone built in advance.

Insights is a dedicated workspace anyone can use to investigate the why, and uncover patterns and recommendations they didn’t know to look for. Shape the analysis with custom views and visualizations, then create, save, and maintain living dashboards your team can revisit as the story evolves. Here, important insights live on beyond the conversation so nothing gets lost when the chat ends.
