Smart and Fast: Atlassian Wins 2007 SmartCompany Award

Atlassian won a 2007 SmartCompany Award on Friday night at an awards ceremony held in Melbourne. The awards celebrate the top 50 fast growing innovative companies in Australia. Atlassian is the fastest growing company in the list of SmartCompany IT award winners with over 117% average revenue growth over three years.
Atlassian was singled out for the “Millionaire Entrepreneur Award,” one of eight special awards handed out that night. In this context, the award refers to Atlassian’s meteoric rise – $1 million in revenue within the first year of operation.
On the award write-up, SmartCompany states, “And their revenue has kept climbing to $22.5 million in the 2006-07 year from $14.9 million for the previous year. The business, which has been profitable since inception, bought Cenqua in August this year, further fueling revenue growth.”
SmartCompany spent months combing though hundreds of applications, from start-ups to companies with up to $200 million revenue, to reach the final 50.
