bepartofsummit.jpgAtlassian Summit is just 68 days away. There are dozens of discussions in this 2-day event. As we run up to the event, we wanted to start highlighting some of the speakers.
This interview is with Matthew Porter of Contegix. He will be speaking on a number of different sessions at Summit, including the general sessions that kick off the conference. Contegix is the platinum sponsor for the conference and Atlassian’s stellar hosting provider.
What is your titles and role at Contegix?
I’m the CEO.
What product(s) will you be presenting at Summit?
We will be presenting JIRA Studio, and the cloud computing platform that we use to power Studio.
How is your team using these tool(s)?
We deploy all of the JIRA Studio instances onto individual virtual machines, which reside in a large, scalable, redundant cluster of high-end servers. We internally use our own JIRA Studio instance to manage all of our software development and configuration script projects, which total more than two dozen individual projects.
Please give us a short preview of your presentation.
As development teams become more geographically dispersed and the need to keep development costs to a minimum becomes more pressing, organizations need to find ways to bring powerful tools their development teams without having to add additional hardware to their internal infrastructures. JIRA Studio is a perfect solution to this problem. By bundling the JIRA, Confluence, Fisheye, Crucible, and Subversion technologies into one package, and leveraging the cost effective scalability of cloud computing, Atlassian has been able to deliver a powerful and affordable hosted development suite.
Contegix is preparing to release to the general public Project Zeus, which will be the Contegix cloud computing market offering. JIRA Studio already leverages the scalability and ease of deployment of the Zeus service, so we will be talking about how Studio uses Zeus, what benefits are gained by Atlassian from using Zeus, and what benefits are gained by Studio customers from using Zeus.
What do you hope to get out of Summit yourself?
At Summit we hope to talk to as many different users of Atlassian’s products as possible to find out how others are using Atlassian’s tools.
Join us at Atlassian Summit 31 May to 2 June, 2009 in San Francisco. Meet other customers, our brilliant sponsors and partners, and Atlassian staff for more than 2 days of case studies, code, and performance tips on the products you use.
