Server Pricing FAQ

Our FAQ contains the most frequently asked questions relating to our licensing and pricing. Need to get in touch with someone from our product or sales team? Ask away.

Can I switch from a Cloud trial to a Server license?

Yes. Just sign up for the Server trial and let your Cloud trial expire.

What happens when I've completed my free server trial?

You can purchase and simply continue using Bamboo. All you should do is replacing your trial key with a permanent license key.

Do plan branches count as jobs?

Yes. The use of the Plan Branches feature has a multiplicative effect on the number of jobs configured, and therefore, an effect on the 10-job cap. For example, a plan with two jobs that is building against a total of three branches (the plan's original branch, plus two additional branches) will contribute 6 jobs toward the limit.

What is the cost to upgrade my Bamboo Server license to a higher tier?

Upgrading your edition of Bamboo allows you to access the additional remote agents. If you have started with a 1 Remote Agent or 10 Remote Agents edition of Bamboo, you may wish to upgrade as your development team grows. Have a look at this table for details.

How do I request a quote?

Requesting an obligation-free quote is easy! You will just need to submit your request through our Atlassian Store. In the final step check "Get a Quote" and click submit.  Only quotes submitted though our online form are considered valid, screen prints of the shopping cart is not the same as a quote.

Pricing based on build capacity

Bamboo's pricing tiers are based on build slaves, or "remote agents" as we call them, rather than on user seats. With multiple agents you can split long-running test suites into parallelized batches, and run multiple builds simultaneouly. The more concurrency, the faster your team gets feedback on their changes. The faster the feedback, the easier (read: cheaper) it is to address problems.

Determining the perfect number of agents for your project is more art than science. Think about the number of developers, how frequently they commit changes, the number of build plans you'll have, and how long they take to run. For a deeper dive, check out this post from our DevTools Blog.

Ecosystem

Bamboo Cloud works with any SVN, Git and Mercurial repo. Because this is a cloud-based tool, an Amazon EC2 account is required to host your build agents, and you will be billed separately by Amazon for your usage of their service. Bamboo can be added to your existing cloud subscription. Check out this page to learn more about Bamboo Cloud licensing.
