What are Confluence databases?

Confluence databases are organized collections of information, dynamically structured so that teams can define and reference relationships between work, empowering cross-functional consistency and visibility. With Confluence databases, teams can create a library of information, view and track deliverables, and aggregate tools, links, and information from inside and outside Confluence, into a single, customizable view.

How can users enable Confluence databases?

Product admins can enable databases (beta) in Confluence via the following steps:

  1. Select the settings cog in the top right corner of the Confluence navigation
  2. Go to Beta features in the sidebar
  3. Read through the ‘Things to know’ and if you agree, click ‘Agree and enable

How much do Confluence databases cost?

Confluence databases are free for customers participating in the beta. Pricing is subject to change when the beta period ends.

Are Confluence databases coming to Data Center?

Confluence databases is a cloud-only offering, and there are currently no plans to bring Confluence databases to Data Center. We will continue to investigate the opportunity and share plans if that changes.

What features won’t be available for databases during beta?

During the beta period, databases will not support or work with certain Confluence features, such as Data Residency, Backup & Restore, Anonymous Access, Admin Key, Atlassian Analytics, Atlassian Data Lake and Data Connectors, and will not be available in languages other than English. Please note that most of these features may not be initially supported for databases even after General Availability (GA). However, our plan is to support many of these features following GA launch. Please ensure you read the opt-in terms & conditions before proceeding.

Do the Confluence compliance certifications cover the database feature?

Upon enabling this feature, product admins will be presented with beta terms & conditions that outline the current state of databases. Currently, we are in beta, meaning not all Confluence compliance certifications extend to databases. However, we are actively working on achieving SOC 2, ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliance and expect to achieve compliance. Please ensure you read the beta terms & conditions before proceeding.

If I opt into beta, will I be able to opt out at a later date?

At this time, customers that opt in to beta will not be able to opt out during the beta period. Please ensure you read the beta terms & conditions before proceeding.
