When will I be able to opt into the Early Access Program?

As of November 7th, 2017, we've started to progressively rollout Identity Manager to Jira, Confluence and Stride Cloud customers. If you're an administrator and don't see the option to enable Identity Manager within your administration settings yet, continue to check back over the following weeks after November 7th, 2017.

How do I opt into the Identity Manager Early Access Program?

If you're a site administrator of Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud or Stride, navigate to Administration, then Organizations & Security and follow the instructions for setting up an Organization and enabling Identity Manager. Check out our detailed instructions.

Is Identity Manager free during the Early Access Program?

Yes, Identity Manager will be completely free during the Early Access Program. However, once Identity Manager becomes generally available for purchase (expected early 2018) we'll ask you to enter your payment details to continue using Identity Manager.

When will Identity Manager be made available for purchase?

We're expecting Identity Manager to become generally available for purchase early 2018.

What can I expect from an Early Access Program?

Our Early Access Program is intended to give you a sneak peek of Identity Manager. Additionally, we'll use this period to work closely with you to get feedback about the product in order to help shape direction and implementation. Here is what you can expect from the Early Access Program:

  • We will provide you with a communication channel to provide feedback on Identity Manager
  • You will be able to use all of the features within Identity Manager with the exception of Priority Support for Atlassian Cloud which will become available upon general availability of Identity Manager.
  • There might be changes to Identity Manager once it is generally available
  • We'll be working hard to resolve any issues that arise during this period

Does Identity Manager work across Atlassian Server products?

No, Identity Manager was built for Atlassian Cloud products only. If you're interested in identity management for our Server and Data Center products, check out Crowd.

What is the difference between Identity Manager and Crowd?

Identity Manager is dedicated to authentication for Atlassian Cloud products and Crowd is dedicated to customers using our Server and Data Center solutions.

Identity Manager was built to help our customers using cloud solutions manage and enforce authentication policies across their users. Crowd was built to serve the specific needs of Server and Data Center customers and is more about managing users, groups, and directories.

I'm already using password policies today, what does the Early Access Program mean for me?

You'll be automatically enrolled in the Early Access Program.

If you enabled a password policy before September 18, 2017, with a non-weak password, you'll have an additional 90 days to continue using the features within Identity Manager at no charge once it becomes generally available. To continue using Identity Manager after 90 days, you'll need to purchase Identity Manager.

If you enabled a password policy after September 18, 2017, you'll need to purchase Identity Manager to continue using it once it becomes generally available.

I'm already using the SAML single sign-on beta today, what does this Early Access Program mean for me?

You'll be automatically enrolled in the Early Access Program. When Identity Manager becomes generally available for purchase, you'll need to add your payment details to purchase Identity Manager if you'd like to continue using it.
