AI is changing what entire organizations can accomplish. As it moves beyond individual productivity to orchestrating entire workflows, the value of software outgrows what seat count alone can capture.
Atlassian customers are already realizing tangible business value from AI and automations, from reporting processes that run up to 40x faster with agents to saving 400 hours per month with automations.
As we continue to add new AI capabilities that expand what your teams can do, we’re evolving our usage-based pricing model and providing full visibility and control over your usage and spend. We want you to embrace the momentum with full confidence in what comes next.
To help you navigate this change, you’ll have a clear picture of how your teams are using AI capabilities and how your usage is tracking across each meter. Most customers on paid cloud plans already have built-in allowances, and if your teams need more, your organization or billing admins can adjust limits at any time.
Where usage-based pricing applies
We designed this model around what customers need to adopt AI with confidence: clear visibility into usage and control over when and how you scale.
Here’s a look at the meters included in our expanded usage-based pricing model. Allowance limits and billing for these meters will go into effect on December 3, 2026.
- Rovo credits*: Deep AI interactions, including Rovo Chat, Confluence AI Slides, Jira Coding Agent, and Teamwork Graph queries. *In-line summaries, rewrites, and Rovo Search remain free.
- Automation steps: Execution steps within an automation flow (triggers, conditions, actions, branches).
- AI agent resolutions: Outcome-based resolutions where an AI agent autonomously completes a request without human escalation.
Assets availability is also expanding to more customers, and Bitbucket allowances are moving to org-level pooling. To learn more about each meter’s specific pricing and updates, please visit our usage and pricing guide.
You’re in control of scaling
We understand that any change to how you’re billed matters – and we wouldn’t make this shift if we didn’t deeply believe in the value our apps deliver.
- Start with value included: Eligible plans include substantial allowances, so your teams can begin leveraging AI and platform capabilities immediately without managing every individual interaction.
- Scale when you choose: When your teams need more, you have options to upgrade your plan, pre-pay for credits, or pay as you go. You’ll see alerts before you approach limits so you can plan ahead with confidence.
- See your usage before you spend: Your admins are in control. New tools in Atlassian Administration give organization and billing admins real-time visibility into usage across teams, the ability to set and adjust limits, and time to review and plan before changes take effect.
Unlocking greater value across your platform
We continuously invest in the context and agentic capabilities that make every AI interaction more effective. Here is a sample of what we’ve recently announced:
- Agents in Jira: Customers run hundreds of millions of Jira workflows and Automations through Atlassian every month. Jira’s coding agents are taking on the routine tasks within those workflows, including bug fixes, vulnerability remediation, test generation, and documentation updates.
- Remix with Rovo: Remix transforms text, tables, and lists in Confluence into infographics, charts, databases, and slides – because pages with visual elements are nearly 2x as likely to be read by a wider audience.
- Rovo Service: Rovo Service resolves complex support needs faster in Jira Service Management by drawing on employee context, trusted knowledge, past requests, and company policies. Customers using these AI capabilities are already resolving issues 13% faster than non-AI users.
And what makes these capabilities even more powerful is Atlassian Teamwork Graph, built on 20 years of understanding how the best teams operate, and designed to serve as your organization’s living context layer. It also extends beyond your Atlassian stack – with the Teamwork Graph CLI and Teamwork Graph tools in Rovo MCP Server, every AI tool your organization chooses to connect can tap into the context you’ve already built.
The results speak for themselves: internal benchmarking shows that agents with Teamwork Graph context deliver 44% better answer quality using 48% fewer tokens than those without. That means better outcomes at lower cost per interaction. This is the value these capabilities can deliver. Taking a few steps now to understand your usage and set the right controls will help you scale with confidence.
