Forge usage began counting toward billing on January 1, 2026, and developers will receive their first invoices in February. In the lead-up to invoicing, we’re sharing more details about SLAs, support, and how to set up your developer space.

Over the next couple of weeks, we encourage developers to spend time getting familiar with their developer space, including how apps are grouped and how roles are managed. This is also a good window to walk through the billing flow, set up a payment method, and explore usage and cost tools so everything is set up and working smoothly before you receive your first invoice.

Setting up your developer space

A developer space groups together multiple Forge apps developed by an individual, a partner organization, or a customer. Every new Forge app must be created in a developer space, and existing private apps must be linked to one. Billing admins will receive a single invoice, combining charges for any apps in the space consuming resources above the free threshold.

action required: configure billing settings

To ensure there’s no disruption to your Forge apps, please add a payment method to your developer space before the first payment is processed on February 1.

Financially backed Forge SLAs

Like Atlassian’s other cloud offerings, Forge will offer financially backed uptime SLAs starting January 1, 2026.

This means if the availability of core Forge features drops below 99.9% for a given calendar month, you can request a credit on your invoice which will be applied to a future month. The credit will be calculated based on the Forge charge incurred by the app during the month when uptime fell below 99.9%. Developers will be able to open a support ticket to initiate the credit request.

Monthly uptime percentagePercentage of service credit
Less than 99.9 but greater than 9910
Less than 99 but greater than 9525
Less than 95%100

The uptime percentage will be calculated in the same way it is for Atlassian cloud products. If the error rate across all covered capabilities exceeds 5% in a given minute it will be considered a downtime minute. The percentage of the uptime minutes over a calendar month will give the monthly uptime percentage.

The following capabilities will be covered in the uptime SLA on January 1, 2026. This list will be updated as we release more billed capabilities in the future.

  • Forge Functions
  • Forge KVS
  • Forge SQL

Updates to Forge platform quotas and limits

We’ve reviewed and revised Forge’s platform quotas and limits to better align with Forge’s new pricing model. These quotas were originally intended to manage use of free platform resources. Now that Forge usage will be billed above the free tier, we’re able to retire some quotas that are no longer needed.

Starting January 1, 2026, the following usage based quotas will be removed:

  • All Functions as a service quotas (invocations, runtime, and data returned)
  • KVS Storage capacity and weekly storage transfer quotas
  • All resource update quotas (File capacity and Files uploaded)

Forge support updates

Platinum, Gold, and Silver partners will now enjoy faster response times for their Forge support requests, with prioritized handling through our developer support process.

All developers will continue to get 24×5 help for technical issues by raising ECOHELP tickets. Starting January 1, 2026, all Forge paid users will get access to billing support for questions about invoices, payment methods, and usage charges.

Next steps

Our goal is to make the transition to Forge billing as clear and predictable as possible. We know many of you run critical apps and businesses on Forge, and we’re focused on giving you clear tools, documentation, and support channels so you can confidently manage your apps and get help quickly when you need it.

We recommend setting up a payment method in your developer space as soon as possible, so everything is ready before charges begin. If you have questions or need guidance, please reach out to your partner manager or Atlassian representative.
