Claim a free Cloud Migration Trial

• Which products are eligible for a free Cloud Migration Trial?

  Free Cloud Migration Trials are available for Data Center customers with an active Jira, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, or Confluence licenses.

  Selected Atlassian Marketplace apps are also available to trial. For more information, visit the Marketplace.

• What are the conditions and requirements for Cloud migration trials?

  • Trial length: Your Cloud Migration Trial lasts the duration of your Data Center subscription. This applies to both products and participating Marketplace apps.
  • User tier: Your trial will match your current user tier, up to 20,000 users. If you have more than 20,000 users that you want to trial, contact us to get started.
  • License eligibility: You need a Commercial or Academic license with 11+ users to be eligible for a Cloud Migration Trial. Starter licenses (10 users or less) and Social Impact licenses are not eligible, but can check out our Free Cloud plans.
  • Expired license: If you have fewer than 60 days remaining on your Data Center license or if you have a lapsed/expired Server license, you are still eligible for a free 60-day cloud migration trial. This applies only to Atlassian products. Marketplace trials always match the remaining license. Learn more about migrating with an expired license.

• How long does a Cloud Migration Trial last?

  Your Cloud Migration Trial will expire when the associated Data Center subscription ends. If you have fewer than 60 days remaining on your Data Center subscription, or if you have expired Server maintenance, your trial will last 60 days. You will be notified when your trial is nearing its end. Cloud Migration Trials cannot be extended.

• How does a Cloud Migration Trial differ from a Standard product trial?

  Cloud Standard product trials last between 7 and 14 days, whereas Cloud Migration Trials last the duration of the associated Data Center subscription. Cloud Migration Trials are designed for Data Center customers evaluating Cloud or planning a Cloud migration. Depending on your size and complexity, you can use a Cloud Migration Trial to explore cloud-only features, build your business case, and run your test and production migration.

• How does a Cloud Migration Trial differ from a commercial license?

  Our Cloud Migration Trial is an evaluation license which is excellent for trialing and exploring cloud, but when it's time for production, you need the real thing. Unlike our commercial licenses, with a Cloud Migration Trial:

  • Support is not guaranteed and is limited to migration-specific help.
  • Financially backed SLAs are not available (only applicable to the premium tier).
  • Atlassian disclaims all obligations or liabilities for trial licenses.
  • Your data will not be backed up.
  • You'll be subject to a limit of 100 outbound emails daily.
  • Your user tier is limited to the number of users you have on your Data Center subscription.

• Can I claim a trial for more than one eligible product?

  Yes. If you own multiple Data Center subscriptions, you can activate separate Cloud Migration Trials for each license. Each Cloud Migration Trial is associated with a Data Center subscription and can only be activated once per SEN.

• Can I use my Cloud Migration Trial to try out Premium features?

  Yes. Within your trial's admin settings, select Manage subscriptions to switch between Standard and Premium plans for Confluence, Jira, and Jira Service Management. Bitbucket Cloud Migration Trials are only available with a Premium plan.

• Can I convert my Cloud Migration Trial Cloud site to my production cloud site?

  Yes. When you're ready to start your production migration, you can purchase a commercial Cloud license to convert your site from a trial site to a production site.

• How do I claim my Cloud Migration Trial?

  There are multiple ways to activate a Cloud Migration Trial. All methods require admin privileges to activate.

  • On the Cloud Migration Trial webpage, select Claim free trial and follow the steps.
  • In admin.atlassian.com, select Start my trial under an eligible SEN license.

• How do I activate a Marketplace app trial?

  Starting in September 2023, you can self-serve and add enrolled apps into your Cloud Migration Trial through the in-product Marketplace in your Jira and Confluence Cloud instances. Select "Apps" on the top bar, and then choose "Explore more apps." If you are looking for a specific app, you can search for it in the "Search for apps bar". The cloud version of your app should appear like this. Click into the app listing. If this app is eligible for the Cloud Migration Trial, you will see a notification bar at the top. It is recommended to explore the application listing to ensure that it is the one you would like to activate. Once you confirm, click the Activate trial button in the top left corner. At this point, only site admins can activate the trial. Other members of the organization can "request" the app. Once you click on activate, the app will be added and ready to use. If it seems that an app might or might not be eligible, you can contact support directly to inquire about any available offers. (See below)

• How do I know if a Marketplace Data Center app has opted in?

  You can determine if an app is eligible on the app listing page of the in-product Marketplace and on my.atlassian.com. If there is no mention of a Cloud Migration Trial, it is not available for extended trial. You can automatically enable the Cloud Migration Trial by installing the app in the in-product Marketplace.

• Can I get a refund if I already purchased a Cloud Migration Trial eligible app?

  Unfortunately, there are no refunds for apps that have already been purchased. If you want to take advantage of a Cloud Migration Trial, please reach out to customer support directly. If you are billed monthly, we can deactivate the paid subscription at the end of the month and reactivate a new Cloud Migration Trial upon request. If you are billed annually, we can deactivate the paid subscription right before the annual subscription end date and reactivate a new Cloud Migration Trial upon request.
