In December, we shared our plans to introduce pricing for self-hosted runners. You told us loud and clear that a free option matters.

Today, as Premium Runners become generally available, we are happy to share that we will continue to have a free forever tier, which lets you connect up to 100 self-hosted runners as part of your plan. If your team needs more scale, dedicated support, or advanced management features, you can upgrade to Premium Runners when you’re ready.

If you’re already using our V5 paid runners, you will automatically be migrated to the Premium tier. All other versions will remain on the free tier and you can upgrade anytime.

Premium runner capabilities

Premium Runners are designed for teams that need more control over how CI/CD workflows are executed and managed. Here are the upgrades that you get with the Premium tier.

To upgrade, go to your Workspace settings > Pipelines > Workspace runners, and choose your tier. Note that to activate Premium runners, your Bitbucket workspace must be connected to an Atlassian organization for billing purposes.

Pricing

Premium self-hosted runners are billed at $15/month per concurrent build slot, which is the maximum number of builds that can run simultaneously across your workspace. Standard plans include one free slot, Premium includes two slots. To manage your budget, you can set your max slots in workspace settings; any concurrent builds beyond that limit will get queued until a slot frees up.

You are only billed for the max concurrent slots that you actually use in the month.

Billing example

If you’re on the Premium Bitbucket plan and set a concurrency limit of 50 runners but only reach a max of 30 concurrent builds during the month, you will be billed for 28 slots at $15 each (2 slots are included as part of your Premium plan).
