Atlassian is sponsoring RecentChangesCamp 2007 in Portland, Oregon, and I’ll be attending. RCC is unlike many other conferences and meetings because it eschews setting the entire schedule in advance. Instead, it uses an organizing method called Open Space, in which all attendees set the agenda together, based on what’s most important to people who’ve come to the conference. I’ve experienced Open Space in action once before, and I can only describe it as amazing. The intentional self-organization, order where there could be chaos, and sense of responsibility to work together make it feel very much like participating in a good wiki.
If you’ll be at RCC, say hi – maybe we’ll plan part of the agenda together!
