The Atlassian Pop-Up Hiring Team has returned to our Sydney HQ after a 10-day hiring tour around Australia: from Sydney to Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide. We hosted evening networking events in each city and offered interview opportunities during the day, all with the goal of finding the “best in our backyard.”
Finding the best in our backyard
We know that Australia has world-class tech talent and we wanted to find it. We have 150 job opportunities available in our Sydney HQ and we’re on the hunt for the best Australia has to offer. The Atlassian Pop-up Events Hiring Tour gave us an opportunity to meet with more than 400 awesome people, many of whom we probably wouldn’t have met otherwise. We brought some of the *magic* that helps make us Australia’s best place to work: fun tees & swag, craft beer, and a great bunch of Atlassians. Folks from our Engineering, Design, and QA teams gave lightning talks describing what their teams do, and some of the awesome challenges they tackle every day.
These networking events had a bit of a twist: we transformed local favorites (bars, cafes, even a dumpling kitchen) into “Atlassian offices.” We wanted to create a sense of our office culture for those who joined us. Followers kept the buzz going throughout the tour, sharing pictures and updates via #atlassianpopup.
So, what’s next?
