Codegeist: The Next Generation

Codegeist, Atlassian’s add-on development competition, is back on! The seventh iteration of the world’s best development competion began February 1 and goes until May 31. What’s at stake? $65,000 USD in prizes for members of the Atlassian ecosystem, both new and old. This time, we’re giving out a prize for each month of the contest. That means the prize haul looks like this:

  1. Best Add-on of the Month ($10,000 x 4): One prize for the best add-on submitted during each month of the contest (February, March, April, and May)
  2. Best Stash Add-on ($10,000): Given at the end of the contest to the best add-on built for Atlassian’s newest product, Stash
  3. Best Overall Add-on ($15,000): Given at the end of the contest to one of the four monthly winners

The best add-on of Codegeist will take home at least $25,000 this year–more than ever before!

So what am I building?

An add-on for an Atlassian product that will live in the Atlassian Marketplace. What’s an add-on? Add-ons are plugins, integrations, extensions, web apps, mobile apps, CLI tools, and more for Atlassian’s tools–JiraConfluenceStashBamboo, and more. If it uses an Atlassian product API, it’s eligible.

Make money in the Atlassian Marketplace

The Atlassian Marketplace is a one-stop shop for Atlassian customers to browse, try, and buy add-ons for Jira, Confluence, Stash, Bamboo, and more. Through the Marketplace, you can sell and market your add-on to 25,000 Atlassian customers. In less than than seven months, the Marketplace has paid out $3 million to developers. Over and over, companies like TempoK15t and Zephyr have proven that launching a successful business on the Atlassian Marketplace is within the reach of any talented developer.
