GreenHopper 4.3 is ready for the prime time, this is a particularly special release for us as we have taken a huge stride towards enabling your team to get started with agile today. Seriously.
Getting started with agile
Prior to GreenHopper 4.3 a customer would have to undertake a number of steps detailed in the GreenHopper 101 to get started. While retaining the flexibility existing customers have come to love and expect we are making it easier for new customers to get up and running with agile by configuring Epics, Story Points, Markers, Ranking, Flagging, and other features in a tailored Scrum template.
How does all this work? You can be a winner and introduce your team to agile today by following these steps:
- Download and install Jira, the Labels plugin and GreenHopper 4.3
- If you are not already a customer grab an evaluation license.
- For any project, click Agile, then Tools, then Configuration.
- Change the selected template from Default to Scrum.
That is it, you are ready to go! Your team can start creating cards in GreenHopper for epics, stories, tasks and bugs. Hopefully not too many bugs. Of course, you can still modify Jira and GreenHopper further to match your teams process.
Epics have been improved with bi-directional linking and the link comes included in your Epics and Stories when you are using the Scrum project template. Further, you can now create new cards from within the Epic dialogue, enabling you to create stories for your epic all at once.
Other small Improvements
In addition to the changes noted above we have improved user preferences by consolidating them in one dialogue, enabling you to change preferences for all boards in one location.
Finally, a collapse bar has been added to the right hand side of the Planning Board to enable users to hide the Version/Component/Assignee statistic boxes and improve visibility for the List view.
