Modern work no longer happens in silos, nor does it happen within one team, one office, or one country. Real innovation occurs when teams make full use of the talents and skills from across different functions and locations.

We believe this happens when we open up our ways of working, thinking, and even being. Atlassian products and practices support new ways to work that enable deep collaboration and visibility across teams and functions. This includes delivering both high-performance cloud solutions and strengthening our self-hosted offerings.

At Atlassian Summit in San Jose, we’re announcing multiple product updates that help software teams open up work and increase collaboration across teams and functions. Here are some of the highlights:

Identity Manager

Adoption of our cloud products is on the rise: over 75% of new customers start with a cloud deployment. Meanwhile, we know that larger customers – and those in highly-regulated industries – have a unique set of requirements when it comes to running mission-critical applications in the cloud. That’s why we’re introducing Identity Manager for Atlassian Cloud products to help meet the security and identity needs of our larger customers. Identity Manager provides our cloud customers with SAML single sign-on for identity management, enforced two-step verification, advanced password policies, and priority cloud support to help customers resolve issues faster. Embedded Portal in Jira Service Desk Cloud

The new Embedded Portal in Jira Service Desk Cloud lets support teams offer their customers embedded in-context help from anywhere. Instead of end users having to navigate away from the web page where they need help, and send an email or open a different support site, users can now easily raise a Jira Service Desk request, report a bug or submit product feedback from within the web page they are already in. Imagine an embedded help button or form that lives anywhere. Those customer requests can then be triaged and piped right back into the software team’s backlog for speedy resolution through native integrations between Jira Service Desk and Jira Software. Portfolio for Jira – latest updates

Last but not least, we are announcing updates to the self-hosted version of Portfolio for Jira to provide executives with greater visibility into software development. Customers turn to Jira Software and Portfolio for Jira to scale agile practices, connect project plans to business priorities and provide leadership with visibility into critical software projects. We are introducing two new features in Portfolio for Jira – programs and dependencies reporting – to increase visibility across the organization to ensure that business objectives are met as organizations scale. Programs provides a collective view of multiple plans to help track the status and progress of high-level business priorities. The dependencies report surfaces dependencies across multiple teams and projects in a single view in real time, giving teams the ability to proactively mitigate risks and remove bottlenecks.
