Happy birthday, Git! Cheers to 10 years

Dear Git,

Watching you grow up over the last 10 years has been quite the journey. When your creator, Linus Torvalds, first announced you were coming into this world after only three days of coding, we had no idea how big of an impact you would have on all of our lives. You allow teams everywhere to have a ‘Git-er-done’ attitude so they can work faster and collaborate better, you put dollars back into pockets with cheap local branching, and make it possible to work offline just about anywhere. You have grown to be the most popular in your class and we are so proud!

You have helped lift the spirits of hundreds, maybe thousands, at one time or another for coming up with the latest pun on your name. Who hasn’t came up with one and thought to themselves, ‘Just wait until I get to say this in a meeting, I am so hilarious.’ So Git ready (see what we did there?), because as a tribute to your 10th birthday, your friends here at Atlassian have put together a look into what you have accomplished over 10 years time. Take a trip with us down memory lane:

Cheers,

Atlassian
