Server product investments

What have we shipped?

This past year we’ve been hard at work making sure you have a platform you can depend on, across all of our products. Learn about some of the key improvements we shipped over the past year in our server products below.

Jira Software & Jira Work Management (Jira Core)

  • Better performance for user indexing requests: We’ve made additional changes to index searchers and cache to bring performance back up to speed again. The re-indexing tasks, like background re-indexing, SLA recalculation, and DVCS re-indexing should be at least 10% faster, with full index consistency retained. Learn more.
  • DVCS Account Improvements: To improve the performance and experience of managing your accounts and repositories, we’ve redesigned the whole DVCS accounts page, also cleaning up screens used for integration and adding search. Learn more.
  • Find duplicate user accounts more easily: We’ve expanded the Jira Server platform REST API with new methods that make it much easier for admins to keep tabs on which accounts are duplicated and where they’re stored. Learn more.
  • High priority queues for indexing requests: We’ve separated this queue into two - one for handling indexing requests created by users and the other for all other requests. User requests now receive a priority, and everything stays fast and well organized. Learn more.
  • Keep Jira safe by disabling basic authentication: While working on adding multiple identity providers, we’ve also included a way to disable basic authentication on the login page and in API calls. Since basic authentication is less secure than single sign-on, we advise that you switch to SSO, and disable basic authentication completely. Learn more.
  • Navigate to screens faster: We’ve introduced a search field and pagination on the View Screens page. Results are now loading much faster and it’s easier to find the screens you are looking for. Learn more.
  • Ongoing security improvements: Benefit from improved security measures including our vulnerability management program. We regularly update core components and third-party libraries to ensure you’re accessing the newest and most secure versions. Learn more.

Confluence

  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot problems much easier with new troubleshooting features, including the ability to mark logs, access dedicated log files, and enable access logging by default. Learn more.
  • Diagnostic information access: We include the username and request URL in thread names by default, which can help us identify and troubleshoot issues faster. Learn more.
  • Ongoing security improvements: Benefit from improved security measures including our vulnerability management program. We regularly update core components and third-party libraries to ensure you’re accessing the newest and most secure versions. Learn more.
