Jira Consolidation and Migration - the Benefits of Hindsight
Jira often starts small and grows organically within a business, a side effect of this can be that even small organizations find themselves with multiple Jira instances, deployed in different ways, leading to complexity for users and IT teams.
Consolidating Jira instances is not as straightforward as simply copying data, any migration needs a plan, and to be well managed, staged and tested. Based on my experience of consolidating 26 JIRA instances of varying versions, configurations, and use-cases, into a single Data Center instance, I will discuss the process adopted, the lessons learned and propose a fresh approach for those planning to migrate, including the tools used, methods adopted, and how to avoid creating problems later on.
20/20 hindsight is always the clearest.
Find the Root Cause - Atlassian Logs and ELK
The numbers tell the tale! By aggregating log files in an easy to use tool, where you can easily zoom in into problems, you get a clear view on what improvements can be done to increase the stability and performance of your instance. Joachim Bollen, an Atlassian expert with a long-time focus on performance and stability, will guide you through the setup and configuration of Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) to aggregate the logging and metrics of your Atlassian applications (Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket). He will show you how this setup helped in detecting the root cause of performance issues in Jira and how dashboards can help you monitor the health of your Atlassian applications.
Getting Serious About Cloud Migration
Let's face it. Server to cloud migration has been the elephant in the room for some time now. Join Steven as he walks through Atlassian's very own journey migrating their internal server products to their cloud products. Attendees will hear about Atlassian's migration challenges, ways they overcame them, and how they seek to improve the experience for customers with a sneak peek at the new and improved migration tooling.
