Atlassian Data Center in Kubernetes the Cloud Native Way
In a world where innovation is demanded at an even higher rate, many global companies are turning to Atlassian products to manage their product development processes. As these systems become mission critical, there is no room left for maintenance windows, manual playbooks, and traditional IT approaches. This talk will show you the benefits of running Atlassian Server and Data Center products in a modern Cloud Native infrastructure - based on Kubernetes. Learn how to deploy, upgrade and scale in a matter of seconds, and how desired state configuration will ensure a self-healing system - even at night! You'll also see how Praqma has dockerized the main Atlassian tools, in a way that makes them production and cluster aware.
The Essential Guide to Operating Bitbucket Server and Data Center
Administrating a Git server like Bitbucket can be counter-intuitive and requires some knowledge of Git, specifically how it consumes resources. After laying a foundation of Git and Bitbucket's performance behavior, you'll learn about the metrics you should monitor with Bitbucket's built-in capabilities to keep your instance running smoothly. You'll also learn about capacity planning, how to leverage Bitbucket Data Center to scale effortlessly and best practices for running Bitbucket in AWS.
Tuning Jira Horsepower for Scaling and Performance
Jira is a powerful, flexible system that can support thousands of users, hundreds of projects, and millions of issues. But as the numbers of teams depending on Jira grows, managing performance becomes a larger priority — degraded performance and downtime isn't an option. To successfully tune Jira for performance, you need to understand how to plan for and respond to the system when it's under pressure, and how to deal with the unexpected. Join this session to learn how to benchmark and test performance, calibrate usage patterns against other example instances, and discover the secrets to "Jira Horsepower": the combination of available compute resources, I/O performance, and scale and usage models. See why Jira responds to user requests the way it does, and what can help or hinder that performance metric.
Sizing Jira Software for Performance - the Trifecta!
Jira performance is highly dependent on the trifecta of environment, data complexity, and usage patterns. In this talk, learn from Dev Govindaswamy's 10+ years of experience managing Jira environments of all sizes (100K issues to 1M+ issues) that were architected to be highly performant. This talk will outline the factors affecting Jira performance and how to measure if your current Jira environment is sized adequately for your data complexity and usage patterns.
A Journey From Bureaucracy to Enterprise Agility in Government
The Norwegian Labor and Welfare Directorate (NAV) is pioneering the digitization of the public sector in Norway. In this talk, they'll take you on their journey to build the world's best labor and welfare solutions, from bureaucracy to enterprise agility. Learn how they reorganized and scaled their IT organization to deliver faster (and cheaper!), find out how they ensure alignment between business and IT, and discuss how the Atlassian tools can support agile at scale by de-scaling and simplifying.
Been There, Scaled That: Making the Right Bets in Team, Process and Tools at VMware
How to scale efficiently becomes your biggest concern when you see rapid user adoption of any application. At VMware, adoption of Atlassian tools grew from 100's to 1000's of users per month within a year. This growth brought added complexity to on-boarding new teams, upgrading, maintaining a performant environment and ensuring stability while providing HA and DR. We had to be cautious when introducing new add-ons and integrations to support Service Management and Agile transformations. To satisfy complex requirements, we embraced several deployment models, moving from server to DC while introducing MySQL clustering and a hybrid DR solution on VMC in AWS. In this talk, we'll share our journey through these challenges, how our experience informed new onboarding techniques and policies, and the valuable guidance we received from our TAMs.
Expand Your Data Center Experience With Marketplace Apps That Scale
As Atlassian grows the Data Center platform, the Ecosystem team has been working with developers in setting standards for a great app experience. This talk will cover the growth in app adoption across teams using Data Center and the guidance for what it means for an app to be data center approved. We'll look over some of our most widely adopted apps and how Atlassian and our developer community is investing in bringing many of our best apps to Jira Family and Confluence Data Center platforms.
Implementing Jira Service Desk At Scale to Support Your Growing Organization
Supporting a growing enterprise organization is no easy task. We'll cover the advantages of using Jira Service Desk to support a rapidly-growing organization. Learn how to help your organization's support teams do more with less by utilizing JSD's automation, evaluate your team's health using SLAs, introduce a user-friendly support portal to your support team's customers, and how JSD can be used to align various support teams including IT, HR, and Facilities.
Gain Scale, Reduce Cost, and More – Migration Best Practices With AWS
How do you make life easier when your Atlassian instances are growing by the day, but your infrastructure and support teams aren't? In this session, you will learn about leveraging AWS to dynamically scale your instances and improve performance of your Atlassian tool stack while reducing cost.
Bina Khimani, AWS Global Head of Infrastructure Segments, Partner Ecosystems, will discuss business and technical aspects, guiding principles, and a prescriptive approach to cloud adoption for Atlassian’s tool stack and similar workloads. She will be joined by Dan Frost, cPrime Director of Strategic Partnerships who will share customer case studies and lessons learned while leveraging AWS to improve scalability and performance.
