Description

Bitbucket is Atlassians cloud-based hosting service for software development projects using distributed version control systems, Git and Mercurial. Bitbucket enables small, agile teams the benefits of increased team collaboration, innovation and code development speed.

The Bitbucket Senior Product Manager is responsible for managing product features on bitbucket.org and for JIRA OnDemand. This role owns planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, creating the business case for integration product features and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

What Will You Do?

  • Assemble product requirements from multiple sources (e.g. research, usability, consumer feedback, interviews, competitive assessment)
  • Design features that balance minimal viable feature definitions to meet the core customer requirements with creating passionate customers
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Work closely with engineering and design to define features
  • Work with the Stash, SourceTree, and dev tool related development teams, Project management, other Product Managers, Product Marketing, and Sales to drive cross team projects to completion
  • Define key metrics for measuring product success
  • Understand market problems and identify market opportunities
  • Ensure prompt resolutions for technical and business issues
  • Be social. Act as a leader within the Bitbucket team. Build relationships across product lines and functional groups to make sure we are all on the same page
  • Work closely with the Bitbucket leadership team to assess roadmap direction and provide input into product strategy

What you should bring

  • Experience: 3+ years of product management experience in a high growth software product organization
  • More Experience: Driving a successful software product or online service from scratch
  • Attention to detail: We want you to care about the small things just as much as the big things
  • Technical background: Experience in software development
  • Charisma: You will need to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Decision Making: Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities, balance customer needs with business priorities, and articulate the rationale behind decisions
  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Statistical, analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree strongly preferred
