16 Atlassian’s across three nations have been growing their Mo’s for the past week. Some have been more successful than others….it’s time to check out their progress and announce the Mo of the Week. But first, a couple of facts about the Mo:
The earliest recorded Mo was in 2650 BC where Egyptian artefacts show a pencil line Mo.
Those brave men participating attached their weekly headshot to our Movember 2009 Confluence page. Using the Taskdock plugin I’ve been able to set everyone a task to update their headshots. Beats chasing everyone up using email!
Power to the People
Once everyone had completed their task I published a blog in the Staff Space on our Confluence Intranet. I gave the power to the people using the Survey Plugin, allowing all Atlassian’s to cast their vote for Mo of the Week.
So, who has the Mo of the Week?
Not so fast, let’s see everyone’s progress thus far…
Finishing with 43% of the vote, the clear winner of Mo of the Week was our Director of Audience and Community, Jon Silvers.
Remind me, why are we doing this?
Let’s not forget there is a serious side to all this fun.
Movember aims to change the face of men’s health and alter this way of thinking by putting a fun twist on the very serious issue of men’s health. By using the moustache as a catalyst we want to bring about change and give men the opportunity and confidence to talk about their health with friends and family.
To date, collectively Atlassian have raised $640 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation in the US, and The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue, in Australia.
If you would like to make a donation, Atlassian will match your contribution:
