Mark a Trello card as done (and drop the mic on that task)

Due date fanatics rejoice! The ability to mark a card as done is really happening. Check it out:

If you add a due date to a card, once the task is completed you can now check it off on the card, changing it from a stress-inducing red to a soothing green color. Ahh, the satisfaction.

This is also a helpful reference if anyone needs to look back to know exactly when a task was marked complete.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! When you’re operating in Calendar mode, you can see which tasks were already done because they will appear in strikethrough on the calendar. At a quick glance you’re now able to see what’s left without getting confused.

So let’s break it down, traffic light style:

When you add a due date to a card that is in the not-so-near future, it is there for reference on the front and back. When it is 24 hours before the due date, the due date turns a “soft warning” yellow. When it has reached the due date or (gasp!) the overdue date, it is an alarming red. But fear not, if the task is complete simply check it off and it’s nothing but green pastures from here on out:

To mark a card as done, just check the box next to the due date on the card back:

That’s it! Sometimes it’s the little things.
