Here’s how one customer uses Atlassian tools for their DevOps process:
Bringing in Jira Service Desk first, the operations team used it to better capture and manage customer support. By connecting it with Jira Software, they’re able to link a development task to the original service desk issue and close the customer feedback loop. Their development team uses Jira Software to plan, prioritize, and track work, and integrate it with Bitbucket so their developers can easily jump into the code base from the issue. All progress is visible – branches, commits, and builds – keeping the entire team informed of work in progress. Once code is committed, Bamboo starts to automatically run builds against changes. Development can deploy code through Bamboo or Jira Software, where they have a complete snapshot of the overall health of a release. They also use Hipchat to keep their teams connected and practice ChatOps – using Hipchat they can pipe in updates from all Atlassian products (and marketplace integrations) in real-time to stay on top of work or swarm to resolve major incidents.
