- “In about one week of use of your trial, we were able to increase productivity and responsiveness through our team by at least two-fold. We can't live without it now.”
- Charles DeLauder of American Apparel
- “After a quick installation, the I.T. Manager was immediately defining project structures, and adding tasks. He's overjoyed, (since when do I.T. Managers become overjoyed at new software?), with how quickly the software has empowered, and organised the department.”
- David Renton of Royfoss
- “JIRA is awesome!!! I love it way better then Bugzilla or issue-tracker. It is almost too configurable, you know. There are so so many options, you just have to be careful to not give your project team data overload. ”
- Jeff Marshall of Fusion Learning Systems
- “I would like you to know that using JIRA and Confluence for the past 18 month has contributed to running our company in a much more professional way. We have a saying internally which goes: "if it's not in JIRA, it doesn't exist".”
- Tina Lerche of EasySpeed
- “The immediate and enthusiastic responses from Atlassian on this trivial issue really say a lot about you and your company, and show why your products and those who make them are without rival! (and you can quote me!)”
- Steve Neil of University of Phoenix
- “We are absolutely thrilled with both JIRA and Confluence. They are both stable and flexible and our developers love using them.”
- Robert H Christensen of Lockheed Martin
- “We have also found it to be a good tool for keeping committee members informed and up to date. The usage of JIRA (and Confluence) is helping ABIF become a leader in the global effort of biodiversity.”
- David G. Levy of ABIF
- “Thanks. Your software quite frankly rocks! We were using bugzilla for years and were constantly frustrated....the transition to Jira was simple and developers and users are horribly happy with.”
- Joey Frasier of Capital Printing Systems
- “We've been using your software now for 6 weeks, and we've been blown away by the quality. Watching it go through its update process on installing, looking through the internals, we're mightily impressed! And once our people started using it, they've gotten completely into it. Great one!”
- Jordan Digby of Viator
- “I just upgraded Jira and I have to tell you that it was the best experience I have ever had. Usually upgrading applications that are this complex in nature inflict some level of pain on the systems administrator. Jira is most definitely a welcome exception to this rule!”
- Nicky Ayoub of Microchip
- “We had an interesting JIRA experience today. The building manager shut down the power without notifying us and the postgresql DB just disappeared. Due to an error in out backup script the DB wasn't included. Thankfully, the nightly JIRA created backup was there to save us - restore worked perfectly!”
- Rob Harrop of Cake Solutions
- “I remember trying them a while ago and not really getting it. Then I started working on uPortal, which uses both JIRA and Confluence, once I came to Chico and man are they kick-ass products!”
- Patrick Berry of CSU Chico
- “Just to let you know, JIRA is a great product... we are really impressed here and it has helped us out much more than we have expected. We have been able to create listeners that will accept issues marked up in XML and enter them into the system. This is great because we have essentially been able to tie in JIRA with every single app we build. Your api is very flexible (could use a little more doc. though). Let your dev. team know though that they have really done a superb job!”
- Aaron Godert of Cornell University
- “I have been nothing but impressed by the simple ingenuity and powerful features found in your product. With the implementation of this new issue tracking system here at Follett, we are bound to see a great boost in efficiency. Thank you for creating such a great issue tracking system.”
- Zachary Silver of Follett Higher Education Group
- “JIRA, and to a greater extent, Confluence are catching on like wildfire here at Johns Hopkins. In fact, I have become the "Atlassian Evangelist" and just demo'd both products to an awestruck group from the Johns Hopkins Hospital who have seen what we are doing with the products and are eager to do the same.”
- Geoffrey Corb of John Hopkins University
- “Just a tip of the hat for the great software; you guys got it right. Keep up the excellent work!”
- Peter Deer of Government of Yukon
- “We really like your JIRA product, and use it on a daily basis for our development group (15), and store support (150 stores). Also, Confluence is the core of our corporate documentation. Good work!”
- Christopher Peterson of Sterling Shoes LP
- “I must say that this probably was the easiest software to download, install, and configure to my initial testing criteria that I have ever seen. JIRA was up and running within 1 hour from start to finish including the creation of custom groups, custom permissions, 3 Sample projects across 3 sample clients. The layout is elegant and simple. The configuration options are mostly intuitive. The code is very fast even on the slow local Linux server I installed this on.”
- Scott Van Ummersen
- “As far as I'm concerned, Confluence, Jira, and Perforce are the holy trinity of development support tools.”
- Joshua Marker
- “I've got the demo of Jira running and I must say I'm extremely impressed. The installation of this software would not possibly have been any easier. Seriously, if you guys had come and installed it yourself it still wouldn't be easier.”
- Vincent Bray of Cobweb
-
“We love JIRA. We are a small software company, and JIRA has helped with our quality and processes immeasurably. We were just audited by one of our customers (Fortune 100 Company) and were able to prove what we said by allowing them into our JIRA system... thanks.
We just upgraded to JIRA 3.2 Enterprise from 3.0.x. I wanted to share our experience.
Total time from download to install: 5 minutes.
Total down time for our users: 15 seconds.
Total issues with upgrade: 0.” - Andrew Wertkin of Synapsis Technology
- “Jira was simple to set up. I would say that it took me no longer than about 5 minutes to unzip the file (enterprise version), go to the web site to generate the enterprise trial license, and walk through the admin setup pages. After that, I created some users, a project, and an issue for my colleagues to work with. I was impressed with how easy all of this was. And that I did not need to read any documentation to do it. The forms are all self-documenting, which is the way it should be.”
- Michael W. Balk of AT&T Labs Research
- “We're happy as clams with both Confluence and JIRA. Atlassian does grand work....hats off to all of you.”
- Pete Sirois of Jobster
- “Just wanted to say how impressed I am with the JIRA system. It certainly allows us to be more responsive to our users needs.”
- Terry Bouvier
- “Thank you very much, I would just like to say how much we love JIRA, after using the evaluation version for a week we couldn't wait to take it live.”
- Paul Dlug of American Physical Society
- “We are very satisfied with Jira and Atlassian. Jira has really helped streamlining our development process, enabling us to deliver high quality solutions to our customers. In addition your support has provided quick and excellent service when we needed it.”
- Arild Strømhylden of CIBER Norway
- “The setup screens and UI were really intuitive the guys were up and going in no time at all. Even customising the look and feel was excellent.”
- Chris Brown
- “Issue linking is great, integration of CVS logs is great (just write issue number in the commit message), user interface is awesome. AFAIK, the other tools can't compete on that level.”
- Aslak Hellesoy of XDoclet
- “We've been using Jira for two months now and it has become a "must have" for our development department.”
- Alex Dumitru
- “Goran and me have been looking for a issue-tracker for years now. Tried some. Died some. Then we both discovered Jira (pretty much at the same time). Since then we have been using it. And it's the only tool (part from IDEA) that we've actually never needed to sell to the others. They just bought it. It's cheap. It's simple. It's flexible (but still simple). It's simply as good as they come. And the best part, it even looks great.”
- Niclas Olofsson of isMobile
- “My special thanks to all the team, JIRA is the fifth bug browser I evaluated and it is unbelievably good.”
- Andrey Khapugin of Excelsior
- “I have spent the past 4 years doing UI testing and I have to say that your product is awesome. The UI is very nice, intuitive, and powerful. I looked at about 20 different companies during my evaluation process.”
- Jan Capps of Calpont
- “I had been using Scarab before and I can't tell you how many orders of magnitude better Jira is. Thanks!”
- David Soergel
- “It's an excellent product, excellent support and a great team!”
- John Davies of Century 24 Solutions

- Robert D. Vandehey of Integrated Data Systems
- “JIRA has long been recognised as a cornerstone tool of our business. We now have a pretty simple rule for products from Atlassian - if they've built it, we'll buy it.”
- Adam Kierce of Shine Technologies
- “I just want to say though, we are absolutely impressed with the work you guys have done... Our project management lifeline exists in JIRA and without a doubt, it is one of the single most useful tools we have here.”
- Aaron Godert of Cornell University
- “The installation was almost trivial, and the application is very easy to use. For the price, there doesn't seem to be anything better.”
- Mattias Bertelsen of Keller Williams
- “I have to say I'm very impressed with JIRA. It's hard to not be impressed by a tool that I don't even need to look at the documentation to set up and do what I want with. Very intuitive!”
- David Coutu of Vermont Student Assistance Corp.
- “We think JIRA is a really powerful tool (and at the same time, easy to use and very configurable). Its architecture and interface are the best I've seen. Our most sincere congratulations to all of you.”
- Andres Pedrera of Ya.com
-
“I don't know how we got by without it. A wonderful tool. You can forget Bugzilla. JIRA beats it hands down.
Easy to install, good performance, good support from the Atlassian team, easy to manage and run, and above all easy to use. Thanks for a great tool. We really love it.” - Jason McKerr of Northwest Alliance for Computational Science and Engineering
-
“Install it and a month later your organisation wonders how they have ever done without it. Upgrades are an absolute breeze, takes me less than 10 minutes to do it and I don't even have physical access to the server it's on. JIRA is running using it's standard distribution of Tomcat and I run it as a service on the server."
"We have an office in Belgium with 20 users using it (over the good ole internet) and it's wonderfully fast. I still get jaws to drop when people who have used other issue management systems experience the JIRA's performance. It has most certainly changed our lives.”
- Victor Rodrigues of Cochlear
-
“Just thought I should let you know that we have been EXTREMELY happy with our purchase of JIRA. Very easy to use for both functional and technical folks - could be tailored for pretty much anyone from analysts to developers to management.
We got a little creative and made several customizations...In addition to issue/bug tracking, we are also using it as a requirements (Use Cases & Stories) mgmt tool. Issue linking provides a simple way for us to implement traceability. Time tracking and the ability to assign issues to releases are both useful for release planning purposes. Overall, a very solid product - keep up rdquo;
- Duc M. Trinh
- “I just wanted to say what a brilliant product you guys have put together. I am so impressed by the product, the sales team, the support and the no-hassle licensing terms. I have several friends at other companies who will be getting a strong recommendation from me over the next few weeks. I have used everything from Bugzilla to StarTeam to try to get a handle on my projects but they all fall short in big ways. I frankly can't imagine using any other tool to manage my projects now. Thanks for a job well done and keep up the good work!”
- Gregory Stone of M7
-
“Everybody involved with the service has been very satisfied with its features and user-friendliness - hence its user base and amount of use has been spreading quickly in our local project community.
I can sincerely recommend JIRA for bug-tracking, issue-tracking, requirement-management and project management for both small and large projects within Nokia. After the transfer to HP-managed NESE-compatible platform soon there will be enough processing power to easily increase the number of projects and users by orders of magnitude without performance problems. Also the placement of the system to NESE-compatible cell allows permission of subcontracting-parties to required set of projects in JIRA.” - Robert Brotherus Nokia
-
“Again, I really must thank you for putting out such mindblowing software. I literally spent days going through *each and every* bug/issue/request tracking system on freshmeat.net, and not a single one even comes remotely close to the power, elegance, and flexibility of JIRA.
Even the installation process was flawless; I got JIRA up in exactly 60 seconds. Rarely do I give praise of this magnitude, but you guys truly did an incredible job. You are a model of what all software should be."
".. thank you for your time and consideration, and especially for making available the absolute best tool of its class."
and "JIRA is hands down the best issue tracking software in existence :)”
- Adam Foxson of CPAN
- “I'd like to say thank you all for developing a great product, and for superior customer relations. I've used a wide variety of mediums to track deficiencies/enhancements (e-mail, Lotus Notes, home grown [systems], Mercury TestDirector), and JIRA beats them all soundly in terms of easy of use, "trace-ability", versatility and overall features -- all at a price that's nearly a steal. I plan on recommending JIRA as one of the first products a company developing software should consider.”
- Phil Barnes of EGM
- “I currently work at Intrasoft (largest consulting company in Brussels) as Senior Architect and introduced JIRA. At first people kept using Rational ClearQuest, but when they saw the ease of JIRA and got stuck by the damn licensing policy of CC, management decided to switch. Now I'm demonstrating it to all our project managers and people of the European Commission and Parliament (even for helpdesk usage etc). The most asked features are reporting and statistics, and every time they are astounded by the filter+excel export. Also the email -> issue and email -> comment score high. The customization of the dashboard is also wicked to many. The mail notification (and HTML format) kicks ass too. JIRA just kicks ass.”
- Matthias Bogaert of Intrasoft
- “JIRA is a really solid piece of software. After years of suffering with large, clunky issue tracking systems JIRA was a breath of fresh air. Everything from the UI to the J2EE backend is really well done. I plan on rolling JIRA and Confluence into the standard set of software we roll out for customers as part of our management and process consulting services. We will also be using JIRA and Confluence as the backbone for the Ikayzo Open Source Community. A requirement for all community software is support for Asian languages. Most products don't make it past this basic requirement.”
- Daniel Leuck of Ikayzo

“After much frustration and inability to efficiently manage our various projects tasks, issues and features, we started to use JIRA in a couple of real projects and slowly started to rely pretty much solely on JIRA: to reduce the risk of lost information, as a communication tool among development teams, as a communication tool with our customers. Quickly everybody felt comfortable with JIRA and it easily became the most used tool internally.
Because the UI is so neat and finished, I have no problems handing userids to my customers and subcontractors. I don't have to spend time training them on how to get around the system. With the notifications and the ability for them to contribute directly in the issue tracking system I can make the feedback loop ever shorter.” - Francis Beaudet of Macadamian Technologies
- “Just wanted to let you know it is working extremely well. Everyone is very impressed with how we have 'process engineered' the tasks of project issue management, new feature request tracking, and test tracking. I wanted to mention that we have implemented system test tasks as a task type, added parameters to follow, and we use JIRA now to track the testing and completion percentage for the overall system.”
- Dr. Hogarth of the UC Davis Medicine Faculty and Principal Investigator of the California Electronic Death Registration System
- “I am an independent consultant focusing on Java development and the introduction of pragmatic processes at my clients. I have been working with Java since its release. JIRA is the BEST software package i have found for managing the issue flow. The quality of the JIRA application itself is outstanding! Setup and configuration are very easy, the interface is great. Performance on my Linuxbox is fantastic. I also get positive feedback from senior level management at my clients, they like the reports and capabilities. It seems you have created a close-to-perfect application! My clients love me for introducing JIRA. Thank you for this unique product.”
- Thorsten Vogel of coderush.org

“I can't say I have used -all- bugtrackers as there are so many, believe me: I tried =many=. Scarab is probably the most professional open source issue tracker. It comes with my javanet membership: it just doesn't help you doing the job, it only adds administrative tasks to the workload.
From what I have read, and seen (Hibernate) from JIRA I knew it was good. It is even better than that! Installation? I tried the war with some simple config actions for MySQL and the out of the box release with HSQL as well. No problem whatsoever! Out-of-the-box, excellent for MacOS users (which I am not alas). I am sure you know what I mean: JIRA is _an experience_.”
- Jim Caprioli of NiLOSTEP Information Sciences

“I've been using JIRA every day for about 2 weeks now and it is just great.
The main selling points for my project manager were: 1) the roadmap (fits perfectly with a agile programming process oriented towards getting releases out of the door) and 2) being able to easily export it to excel for preparing progress meetings.
The main selling points for the boss of my project manager were: 1) the fact that I was actively using it and 2) its price!
Great work and keep it up!” - Marc Paquette of Covansys
- “I'm a former F-16 pilot, with 15 years as a management consultant. The difference isn't so easy to capture in words, but the healthy, glint-in-the-eye, get-the-job-done style is there to see. JIRA and Confluence are tight where it counts, letting you play fast without cramping your style with unnecessary rigidity.”
- Donald Willard Garrett of Earth Vigil Trust
- “JIRA is much more intuitive and usable, JIRA looks better (cool icons for states), JIRA provides a better overview over all (or filtered) issues, JIRA provides a RoadMap (future) and a Change log (past), JIRA runs with Hypersonic SQL and it therefore completely portable (100% JAVA), JIRA has better support for Opera browser (in Scarab the tables jump from page to page), JIRA allows complete import and export of database content (easy update or backup)”
- Thomas Singer

“I just wanted to send kudos to your engineering team - I checked out the demo and it's very impressive. I imagine you must have linux users over there as it your site as well as the JIRA demo looked great on Galeon.
Furthermore, I admire what what your company stands for (after inspecting your website).
I hope you guys have a lot of success.
You guys ever going to open a San Diego branch?
”
- Rich Yumul
- “I'm sending this email to thank you and the very impressive JIRA support staff. The constant feedback I received via the JIRA Forum was critical in delivering answers to the Newisys team and scoping the implementation project, enabling me to show the cost savings of JIRA vs. the other tools being evaluated.”
- William Crighton of WAC Consulting
- “I'm a hardcore tech guy who desires the wide array of features of true enterprise-class software and yet who also demands the usability of office productivity apps. And the last 3 weeks of using JIRA has pleased me on both counts.”
- Sonny Sukumar of Red Pouch
- “JIRA has just become my Holy Grail for how to architect and layout and distribute an enterprise application. You guys ROCK!”
- Darryl Pentz of Vardus

“I've been very impressed with JIRA. I've evaluated it against our current solution, ElemenTool, as well as several other including TestTrack Pro, FogBugz, ClearQuest, ExtraView, and TrackStudio. I also looked briefly at Serena's TeamTrack, Elsitech's Visual Intercept, and Bugzilla. Most were rejected because of cost and others for lack of features or ease-of-use.
It really came down to ExtraView, TrackStudio and JIRA. TrackStudio was very nice, inexpensive, but integration with Perforce seemed like it might be difficult and the interface was one where you either love it or hate it. It wasn't as intuitive as I would've liked. It appeared ExtraView would allow us to do everything we needed out of the box including Perforce integration (very tight), allowing a single issue to target/track multiple releases and/or products. However, as I evaluated it I kept making layout modifications that basically prohibited me from being able to submit issues to the database. I believe they sacrificed an intuitive UI for flexibility. They have a nice set of screen shots on their website explaining what their product can do, but for everything else you must go through a salesman. This wouldn't be so bad except that their sales staff was not very responsive. No pricing info on the website, no live demo, no forum access...not very helpful!
My evaluation of JIRA has led me to recommend it as the solution of choice for our development team! The interface is intuitive and second to none for ease-of-use. Yet, your solution is still sufficiently flexible. Road Map feature is a big win! Your project-centric approach to issue tracking is a big win! Time-estimates, customizing features, and price were also important factors in my decision. Although, you don't support Perforce integration (yet) three users on your forum offered to send me code showing me what they did for Perforce integration. Also, it appears your next version will have a clone feature that should help address the issue of having a bug target multiple releases/projects.
I did a demo for some managers and QA folks here and the liked what they saw. We've placed an order for the Enterprise Edition.
Thanks for a great product and keep up the good work!” - Kevin James of Jeppesen Sanderson
- “There is a great deal of interest in JIRA within my group, and we feel very reassured by the responsiveness and ability of your team. Keep up the good work, this is a really nice piece of kit.”
- Michael Brown

- Jason Barr of Thawte Consulting
- “Thanks again for the feedback - I have never dealt with a company that really does deliver on support but the service is truly excellent.”
- Neil Kelly of Cognotec
-
“We develop our product with the same tech philosophy as your tech team, so praise and respect to them. Your tech lead clearly has a good sense of future proofing and good coding practice.
Absolutely love the product... it is great for batting off the waffly sales guys... 'Put it into JIRA', 'JIRA it' - bug tracking has a new name.”
- Phil Cornelius of Extend Technologies
- “I really admire Atlassian because not only do you seem to have created a successful (I hope) business model [it is - Ed.] around open source software and have fair and very budget friendly licensing arrangements, but you seem to really listen to your customers. Good for you! Already, after just a few days of use, I'm getting very positive comments about JIRA. Our developers and project managers find JIRA very easy to use.”
- Derek Mahar of Penson Financial Services Canada
- “I would like to congratulate your company. You are an example of business and I really appreciate your company's vision and products.”
- Jose Lopes Neto of Mastersaf Brazil
- “I look forward to a long relationship with Atlassian, you guys are inspirational - keep up the good work. I was recently in New York and proud to be able to heartily recommend you to Audium Corp... I hope that translated to an order ! (It did, thanks David! - Ed) Go Australian software developers !”
- David Varnes of Holly
- “I just went to this talk from the Thoughtworks CEO, and basically out of nowhere he praised JIRA, and Confluence and said how amazing a company Atlassian were.... very impressive since he didn't praise any other product or company. I just thought that you might want to know what other people are saying about you.... congratulations :) ”

- Niclas Sannholm of Olof Granlund Oy
