JIRA's powerful searching capabilities will help you find precisely what you're looking for in seconds.
Quick search
Displayed in the top right hand corner of every screen, JIRA's quick search is exactly that - quick access to the issues you need.
Free-text searching: JIRA's quick search offers deep free-text searching of all issue summary, description and comment fields.
Smart querying: Looking for all the open tasks assigned to you? Type in 'my open tasks' and JIRA will know exactly what you mean.
Jump to an issue: Simply type in the issue's unqiue key.
Issue navigator
JIRA's issue navigator allows you to carry out sophisticated searches and browse the matching results.
Flexible output format
The issue navigator allows you to view your results in different formats:
- Printable: a printer friendly view without unnecessary navigation
- XML: an RSS friendly view so that you can subscribe your RSS reader to a particular search
- Full content: displays the search results in either HTML or Word formats
- Excel: exports the search results to Microsoft Excel format
Saved searches
You can save searches as 'issue filters', which can then be shared with other users and/or added to your dashboard. The search results can also be periodically emailed to you or a group of users.
Powerful free-text searching
JIRA's free-text searching supports a rich set of search syntax which includes boolean operators, wild card searching, fuzzy searching, proximity searching and more.
