Splitting a JIRA instance

Warning
Before carrying out any of the following, always
backup your database using your database backup procedures, and test
that the backups are good.
Splitting a JIRA instance is easy. Firstly, create a backup file from you current production server, as
described in How to backup your data. Import this
backup file into your second production machine, as described in How to restore your data. At this point you have two JIRA
instances with identical state - projects, users, issues, et al. At this point delete the non-required projects
from each server.
Note
This requires two seperate server licenses.
