Light-weight, Formal Reviews

Crucible provides configurable options to track and complete reviews:

  • Defined workflow
  • Moderator
  • One or more participants

Ad-hoc Reviews

Some source (or any text) just needs to be discussed without a formal review process.  Crucible provides ways to discuss code informally:

  • Snippet reviews: simply paste some code or text and start discussing it with the team.
  • Changeset discussions: provide free form comments on commit messages.

Code Discussions

Reviews are about comments. Crucible supports fully threaded comments so teams can discuss code at different times and locations.

Open a review, click some code, and provide comments at the level of entire reviews, whole files, or specific source lines.

Flag a comment as a defect, add custom classifications, or automate the creation of a JIRA issue from a review comment.

Real-time and Never Outdated

Reviewers can navigate several revisions of a file under review. If a newer revision of a file is available, Crucible will indicate that the file is outdated, and provide a shortcut to quickly add the latest revision.

Crucible notifications will signal when other reviewers are looking at the same review as you, flagging when new comments are made.
