Intranet software that worksCompany-wide collaboration
How do you connect people in an organisation scattered around the world - or even one in the same building? Confluence encourages your employees to share ideas, participate in discussions and contribute to important projects. Keep everyone in your organisation working together, on the same page.
Publish to your Intranet, fast
Many intranets suffer from stale content and low employee adoption simply because they're too difficult to update. Confluence lets the right people put content online, quickly and securely.
- Give every team its own workspace. Create separately managed spaces, each with its own administrator, security, and theme. Free plugins like ThemeBuilder even help you create professionally branded spaces.
- Click "Edit" and start writing. The rich text editor brings your intranet pages to life with images, charts , OpenSocial gadgets and widgets from popular sites like YouTube, Flickr and Twitter. You even edit pages in Microsoft Word.
- Distribute important announcements with blogs. Confluence gives each team, project or individual its own blog.
- Gain real-time insight through the dashboard. The dashboard provides quick access to all spaces and assembles a dynamic list of the most recently updated content within them.

Take back your inbox
Email collaboration spirals out of control when lots of people are involved. Key people get excluded from the the thread and attached documents quickly become outdated, leaving everyone to work from different versions. Confluence opens the conversation so the right people are contributing from the same page.
- Keep content in one, centralised page to ensure everyone is working from the most recent version. Confluence creates a new version each time the page is updated and highlights changes so you know who changed what and when. Fix mistakes simply by reversing changes.
- Save your inbox from large attachments by placing them inside Confluence where they're linkable , versioned and searchable. Adding attachments is as easy as dragging them from your desktop onto the page! The Office Connector then lets you easily view and edit documents.
- Hold a threaded discussion on any Confluence page or blog by using comments. Comments are secure, searchable and linkable just like everything else in Confluence, helping the right people contribute to the discussion.
- Control your inbox by subscribing only to the content you care about. Watch any space or page to be emailed when content changes or create your own custom RSS feed with our Feedbuilder.
- If moving away from email is just too hard for your team, Confluence will archive your email threads so you can browse and search them later.
The "summary" email that I get every night is the best feature of Confluence. It has become a routine thing for me every morning to read through the summary email, look at what's changed, and to look at new pages that have been created. Geoffrey Corb of Johns Hopkins University
Create a Social Intranet
People and content are inextricably linked. Knowing who wrote something is as important as what they wrote. That's why Confluence associates the content in your intranet with the person who wrote it.
- Trust what you read. Confluence automatically stamps every contribution with the name of the author so you know who wrote it. Simply hover your mouse over the author's name to view their profile picture, see their status or click into their personal space.
- Create your own personal space to share personal information, blog about your work or just save content online. Each page can be made open to everyone or only a select group of people.
- Share your status with status updates. Want to share a link to an interesting blog post or ask coworkers a question? Create "micro-blogs" of 140 characters or less.
- Keep up with your teammates by following them within Confluence. Following adds users to your network where you can track their activity and status updates.
Confluence has taken hold in our organisation and is spreading like a wildfire across the dry Oklahoma prairie! Confluence has helped our team accomplish more in a few days than they would have in the next year! Marty J. Riley of Gatesway Foundation
