Confluence

Features Integrate

From daily workflow tools to enterprise systems.

Integrate your daily workflow tools

Browser

The most ubiquitous knowledge tool today is the web browser. Confluence's simple web interface has been painstakingly polished to be easy to use. It provides fast, effective browsing and editing — taking advantage of the latest browser technologies, while elegantly adapting to older browsers.

WebDAV

By accessing Confluence from your WebDAV client (e.g. 'Web Folders' on Windows), you can manage your Confluence spaces, pages and attachments from familiar tools such as Windows Explorer. You can even create/edit a document in Microsoft Word and save it directly into Confluence.

PDF documents

PDF is the industry standard for document exchange. Confluence can export any page, or an entire space, as a hyperlinked PDF. Your Confluence links and page hierarchies are maintained within the PDF document.

Email client

Everyone uses their mail client daily. Confluence sends email notifications direct to your inbox, and maintains an archive of your team's email conversations.

RSS

RSS readers are rapidly becoming a core part of the knowledge worker's information toolset. Confluence produces numerous RSS feeds and can also integrate external feeds within its pages.

Integrate your enterprise systems

LDAP support

When you connect Confluence to your existing LDAP repository, such as Active Directory, everyone benefits:

  • administrators only have to manage one user-base.
  • users can login to Confluence with their familiar network login name and password.
"We've hooked Confluence up to our LDAP, and it works a treat ... Having one username that works across everything is a great benefit." Ben Still, Managing Director at Red Ant

SOAP / XML-RPC interfaces

Confluence provides full web service interfaces for your applications or scripts to remotely update content, manage users, or administer individual spaces. For example, this allows your remote systems to publish reports or status updates to Confluence, where they become automatically viewable, searchable, and linkable. Each step of the journey is, of course, protected by Confluence's layers of security.

Usage example: Every night, a script reads your IP phone database and publishes the latest list of names and phone numbers on Confluence.

JIRA and Bamboo integration

Your development team can easily publish reports of their work in Confluence. Add JIRA roadmaps, workflow, and tasks, or Bamboo build success, or to document your Confluence pages. Confluence can display reports on:

  • Open versus closed issues
  • Number of builds and build success
  • Documentation of process and software features
  • And more
