Who should attend?

This course is designed for the JIRA Application Admin who has an intermediate working knowledge of JIRA.   This person should be looking for ways to improve upon how they have currently set-up JIRA and is eager to learn best practices and tips from those in the know.

What information is being covered?

Here are the broad topics we plan to cover:

  • Security - Configuring security and permissions
  • Best Practices for Improving Workflows
  • JQL & Reporting - How to get the most out of JQL and reporting
  • Strategic Thinking - Using JIRA for other uses, schemes, integration
  • Diagnosing Problems and How to Use Atlassian Resources Effectively

What the course does NOT cover:

We will NOT be covering any Sys Admin topics in this course such as installations, upgrades, managing multiple instances, failover, and scaling.  In addition, this course assumes you already have working knowledge of JIRA, so we will NOT be going over the basic functions of JIRA and how to functionally set up a workflow.

What is the course format?

This course will be taught with a live instructor and be highly interactive. There will be a combination of slides, exercises and classroom dialog.  Each student will have access to a controlled, live JIRA instance through the internet and work through exercises on their laptops.
