Title: User Interface Developer
Type: Full time
Location: Onsite (Sydney CBD, Australia)
Department: Development
Reports to: Technical Team Lead

Job description:

Design and implementation of software, specializing in the user-interface of the product.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with the usability and design team to define the UI mockups
  • Implement page designs in standards-compliant dynamic HTML and CSS
  • Implement functionality in JavaScript, Java/JSP and using AJAX
  • Work closely with back-end developers
  • Writing automated functional tests for the UI

Key results areas:

  • Polish and consistency of the user interface
  • Deliver Software Releases with minimal defects, specifically, close-to-zero "basic" defects.
  • Advance and promote the use of Javascript, CSS and AJAX toolkits in the products

Required skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Some experience in Java web development
  • Experience using AJAX and AJAX toolkits, e.g. YUI, Prototype, etc.
  • Proficiency with design tools, such as Photoshop, Illustrator or Fireworks
  • Excellent communication skills
